Maui, Hawaii, 8 Feb 1997

I went to see Soundgarden on Maui and in Honolulu this past weekend and I had the most intense, orgasmic, elated and gratifying experience both times! Talk about charisma and stage presence-- these guys put on two awesome shows! I personally liked the Maui show better, since it was more mellow and laid back. I was just bummed that I couldn't take pictures because the security people were being very anal about that. I had the killer view of Matt and Chris from where I was standing (squished in the front by Ben) and I think that despite the blazing sun shining in their faces, the guys still put on an impressive performance. I went especially nuts when I heard The Doors' 'Waiting for the Sun' and 'Outshined' "Rusty Cage' "Searching with my Good Eye Closed', you know, the older stuff. They played pretty much the same songs in Honolulu, but the set wasn't as long, the godd thing was that They played "Fell on Black Days' as an encore in Honolulu, but they didn't play it on Maui. All in all, Soundgarden is still my favorite band in existence and I am so glad that I had two opportunities to see them--it's amazing I didn't go into cardiac arrest or something. They are simply the greatest band of musicians ever!!

They are simply the greatest eclectic band of musicians ever!!
