After the full day festival of Big Day Out, I was sunburnt , sore and tired, but still looking forward to seeing Soundgarden. It was a pretty good set, with little material from "Down on the Upside". That was fine by me, as I'm not a huge fan of their latest album. There was a huge crowd (for Adelaide, anyway), who didn't seem to really get into it. Very strange. Anyway, the music was cool. They played stuff from as far back as Louder than Love, which suited me fine. Highlights were the Chris Cornell solo version of Black Hole Sun, and the massive encore performance of "Jesus Christ Pose", which I'd been waiting for all night. It was a great end to a great day.
