THE SHOWBOX GIG: FROM THE FAN CLUB...

As the contest to win free tickets to see Soundgarden play at the Showbox on June 20 was announced, the fan club sent the following email:

SEATTLE BENEFIT SHOW

BEFORE SOUNDGARDEN LEAVES FOR THIS SUMMER'S LOLLAPALOOZA TOUR THEY ARE PLAYING ONE VERY SPECIAL SHOW FOR SEATTLE.

PROFITS FROM THIS EVENT WILL BE DONATED TO SEVERAL LOCAL SEATTLE CHARITIES JAM PAC / WMIC, PEDIATRIC AIDS AND SHARE WHEEL.

WE ARE GIVING YOU ... NO MATTER WHERE YOU LIVE ... A CHANCE TO WIN TICKETS TO THIS EVENT!!! (including air fare and hotel - of course) Visit the Soundgarden website at (http://imusic.com) to enter.

In the tradition of keeping in touch with the fans and playing music for fun, Soundgarden will play the reborn Showbox Theater for an intimate audience of 800 people (you must be 21 and over - sorry). The show is on Thursday June 20, 1996. If you are in the Seattle area, the tickets will go on sale 4:00 PM Friday, June 14th at three Blockbuster stores - Seattle, Bellevue, and Federal Way. These will be the ONLY outlets. At the same time (4:00 PM Pacific time), you can buy tickets from anywhere in the world by calling Ticketmaster at 206 628 0888.

Convenience charges will apply. However, Ticketmaster will donate back 50% of the convenience charges to the benefit pool.

Opening the show will be Loosegroove Recording artists Devilhead.

Now get on the phone, run to the nearest outlet, and start hitting the website for your tickets to the first Seattle Soundgarden show in two years!
