LOLLAPALOOZA '96: THE FANS' REPORT
JULY 21, KNOXVILLE, TENNESSEE

I saw Soundgarden at Lolla on 7/21, and I have to say that is the best concert I have ever attended in my life. I know I probably sound like the biggest groupie, but if you were there you'd understand totally. They are so talented, and I think that even the non-Soundgarden fans really got a change of opinion. It started to rain while Chris sang "Blackhole Sun" all alone and it was the coolest feeling in the world to watch him sing in the rain. I'd just like to thank Perry Farrel for inventing this whole thing, and in Siskel and Ebert terms-"Soundgarden's performance got a 2 thumbs up!!!!

From the moment the 'garden got on stage and lead off with "Spoonman" I knew that Chris and the boys were their to kick a$$! I was so glad to see rain after the 90+ degree day. No doubt about it I would say that they get six thumbs and 30 toes up as me and my boys were all tore back! If you wasn't able to be there I sorry 'cause it rocked! Thanks to all who allowed the tour to come to Tennessee!

I will have to say that Lollapalooza '96 was the best show I have ever seen. Soundgarden really did kick ass, as my boy kmr16 mentioned. As soon as I heard "Outshined," I went totally ape-shit!!! And Chris' solo performance of "Black Hole Sun" was cool as hell, too. You can't believe how happy I am that by the time Soundgarden was on stage, my buzz had worn off enough to remember the concert (unlike many shows I have been to). Their performance was truely kick-ass and the show was, without a doubt, worth the $45 and the four hour drive from Nashville. Oh yeah, I thought Metallica fuckin' rocked, too.

MAN, I WOULD HAVE REALL WANTED TO GO TO THIS SHOW BUT UNFORTANTLY I DIDNT HAVE ANY MONEY FOR TICKETS OR A RIDE. DANG!!!

When I saw soundgarden at the forks of the river I was disappointed. The rain was in the bands face most of the time. I think that there better then what I saw. Thay did really ROCK on my wave though. Anybody who was there will agree with that.

I saw Soundgarden at the Knoxville Lollapalooza and they were the best band there. Im glad that they played "Searching with my Good Eye Closed" and a few other songs that were'nt necessarily big video hits. I was warned that Chris' vocals are not as good live as in the studio but thats really not true. Black Hole Sun was a highlight.
