I just noticed this on chriscornell.com tour dates listings:
"European Tour Dates
Date City, *State* Venue On-Sale"

England - a US State!? Hey, just because we've got Borders, Starbucks, Nike
Town and endless McDonalds blah blah blah don't start getting greedy! ;-)

On a less silly note...according to a Sacramento radio station Chris is
playing a show in town on 29th November (tix on sale 25th September). So a
more US tour dates should be announced sometime soon.

Subject: Don't Hate Me Because I'm Curious

In the time I've been on SOMMs I've never read any post that indulged in idle
gossip or rumor-mongering. That said, I'm now gonna sink to that level. I
realize this post is about as reality-based and as welcome as a D G
Cosh-Nicole Kidman fantasy, but I'm compelled by a force greater than my
common sense.
I'm sure others (mostly female?) have wondered who Chris is writing about
(mostly female?) in his more intimate/romantic/obsessive songs. Is, say, Cold
Bitch about Susan or someone else? Is Let Me Drown about Susan or his mother?
Is the one who gave him Fresh Deadly Roses the same one whose garden is grey
by Sunshower? Is his co-sinner, who he leaves when the wind blows...er,
sucks, in Tighter the same one who'll let him back in at his convenience in
Disappearing One?
O.K.-- I have a theory that one of his muses was Tori Amos. It's just
something I got in my head a couple of years ago for very little apparent
reason. When I read the notes in the SG Launch cd (#8), it mentioned that
when the band was checking out the new technology, Chris was furiously
clicking on an image of Tori (...I'll leave it at that). Though it seemed
like a joke type thing, it started my misdirected wheels spinning. In '97
during some MTV 500 Countdown Purgatory there was a news item about an album
Tori was working on (orchestral, at the time). My own obsessive eyes and ears
were startled to see a picture of Chris pop up and hear a statement that he
was trying to get one of his songs on her album!
So far we can assume that Chris finds her phsyically appealing, and that they
had at least a professional/collaborative friendship (don't worry, I won't
get into 'Tash here). Seeing that I don't know these people, and yes, I
believe they love their respective spouses, I'll admit it's not much to
warrant speculation. Still, Chris and Tori have a lot in common-- they're
contemporaries with somewhat parallel careers, have religious and family
issues, Venus/Mars conjunctions, an apparent fondness for snakes and, oh
yeah, music.
I'm not fond of Tori's music, so I'm only familiar with her most popular
(read video-promoted) songs. I'll leave it to the Amos fans with lives as
pitiful as mine to cross-reference lyrics. And I'll just have to wonder-- is
she the spark he disappears on? Is the swirl in his mission raspberry?

Geez, here we go again. Look at the man's face, look at his eyes! This
is not a person on drugs - he looks happier and more at peace than I've
ever seen him. Some of you people are so shallow. I sometimes wonder if
we're looking at the same person.

About the video - I LOVE it. I like the video even better than the song
itself. There is so much symbolism, with the fire and all. And it was so
cool to finally hear Chris talk about what a song really is about. And
to the people complaining about the shots of Chris in the video - of
course there are shots of him because he's an important part of the
story being told in the video. The woman is trying to "reach" him, hence
the flaming envelope she stuffs under the hotel door. The shots of him
aren't like in other videos where the artist is just stuck in at random.
He's actually a part of the story line as I see it. I want to go more
into the fire part, but I've only had a few hours sleep and I can't
think right now - more later.

That's because he's trippin' on drugs! ;)

Heh Heh. Don't get the wheels in my mind spinnin'. I just got this picture
of Chris and Trent Reznor dukeing it out over Tori! You have heard of the
Trent/Tori conspiracy, haven't you?
Ah -- and they're all releasing new albums on the same day!

Tori must be a lucky girl...

**JEN KERN***

An old school SOMMSter that started working as an intern at Silver Management
about 2 months before SG broke up!!!!!!!!

For those of you who don't know Jen, she is the definition of awesome. In 96,
she got me tix to the final SG show in Seattle so me and a friend flew up
from Utah to see it. Then, when the show got canceled, Jen took us under her
wing and showed us all over Seattle for 3 solid days.

She is a true angel on fire who is making her dreams come true!!!!!!!

Jen, if you're still lurking out there:
