Well, I don't mind how many people go see him or love him or become
fans. That's not the issue for me. The issue is whether or not he
still retains the musical integrity he once had. Now, I haven't heard
the whole album yet, but I am gravely disappointed in what I have
heard. What I don't want to "lose" him to is mediocrity or dishonesty.

My guess is that Chris is going into a studio in NY on 15th to record a live
session specifically for broadcast. And I assume this is also the session we
Brits will hear on Radio 1 on 21st September b/c he can't be in London on
21st if he's playing LA.

Yes, you're right but you must agree that it's a bitter pill to get no
tickets because a couple of screeming hormones are teaming up. You know how
fast it could go. I live in a country where he won't do a couple of shows.
Just a one night event and than I have to wait for a year or 2, 3?

Mandy.

Now that I have heard five songs off the album I can tell you he has not
lost his musical integrity. A good example would be a dog. Stays in a yard
for a long time and wizzes on every bush there. Then goes out for a walk
and marks new territory. He's still the same doberman he always was just in
a foreign land. In other words he's still got it. I admit I was
disappointed with Fluttergirl since the original was so awesome and very
little w/ Can't Change Me, but I think you'll like some of the other stuff a
little more.

Are you afraid he will turn into the male Madonna, haha!
Don't worry, I'm a mother. The first year he'll be depressed by lack of
sleep. The rest of the kiddies life he'll worry about the awful things that
can happen. Love's like suicide.

Hey there,

Exciting news! During my many breaks at my job, I read the Toronto Sun
(Sunday version) and I gotta say, I'm pumped. There is a major article on
male solo singers, and of course, Chris was mentioned. His album was plugged
and he got a nice little ole DOTU-era pic of him (colour too!). But what
they also mentioned was a..and get this...

A CONCERT AT MASSEY HALL (in Toronto) AROUND NOVEMBER!!!

I can't wait. Of course, they said it was rumoured, so tomorrow or some
other time I'm going to phone them (long distance too)

Can I hear a Southeastern Ontario SOMMSfest anyone? I can't arrange as I
live in little ole Waterloo. Hopefully someone of legal age (which can buy
many Mike's Lemonade) can have the party.

Dave

Isn't Chris and Susan's aniversary in September sometime. (Evidence that I
know way too much about these people and need to get a life.) Maybe he's
taking a couple of days to do something special. Just a thought.

Listening to Fluttergirl (on mp3, hah) and I gots to thinking. This is
probably going to be the second single on EM. I mean, why not. Its on the
Jukeboxm possibly trying out for comments, critiques, so forth. So, if its
going to be a single, they might *gasp* remix it. It is highly remixable, so
:) I'd love to hear Chem. Bros. do a remix. What am I saying, sacrilage!

Actually, I've always wanted to hear Moby's remix of
Dusty (I believe? Someone check me if I'm loopy).

Do you have any other tracks from the album? I've got a
partial mp3 of Preaching the End of the World...would
rather have the whole thing...

Later,
Bill

Does this post do the following to you:
a) Never want to post on SOMMS again
b) Jealous
c) Wondering where his pants are now
d) Wondering what an orgasm is.

Please post to the list, not to me :)

I have part of Steel Rain, Sweet Euphoria, and Preaching the End..
Steel Rain is the best of the five that I've heard. Chris's voice is
hipnotic in that one. The quality isn't too good on Sweet Euphoria since
its recorded at Chris' house but still a really good song.

Hearing these songs I can tell you Chris has not lost his musical integrity.
Just in this album hes moved on to expand what his voice can do. Beyond
screaming. Well theres some screaming but its kept to a minimum instead of
having it on every song for most of the song like SG.

What station and in what state did you hear Fluttergirl on the radio.
