I have a video of an MTV interview conducted by some ditzy girl on MTV
from about '92 and at the start of the interview there's music playing
in the background and when she starts to interview the band Kim says,
"Tell them to play more Blue Cheer" and points at like the stage hands,
and the others nod and say yeah. So, that tells me they like them and
are probably aware of that album title.

1. Who really cares if he wears eye liner or not. People who are in the
public eye a lot or at photo shoots or on tv wear it all the time.
Its not selling out or anything like that

2. That CC live show, do think you could record it on tape. I live in
Washington and Chris doesn't seem like he wants to play in the rain. At
least for a while.

I agree. I look at Chris and I still just see *Chris*. I was discussing
this all with my husband and I told him "I think Chris looks fine" and
he started teasing me, saying "You'd think he looked fine if he were fat
and bald!" and that really struck me and I replied "Well isn't that the
way you're supposed to feel about someone you really like - shouldn't
that be commendable?" When you truly care about someone it isn't how
they look that matters, its what you see inside them - its their
essence, that makes them who they are.

What I'd like to know is why people have the attitude that just because
they hate something it must be bad, or for that matter if they like
something it must be great. Everyone has their own opinion; music is so
subjective. Whenever people start ripping on Chris I always think of
this song on the Great Expectations soundtrack called Breakable. The
first time I heard it it actually made me cry because it made me think
of Chris (at that time people were ripping Sunshower).

"Do you always have to tell him
everything on your mind?
You know that too much
honesty can be so unkind

Everytime you throw him to the floor
Why are you surprised to see
He's breakable

You always try to find
what's holding him away from you
But do you ever see your anger
standing there right between you?

And everytime you throw him to the wall
Why are you surprised to see
He's breakable

Tell the world that he's
breaking your heart
Go tell the world
nothing's ever your fault
Go tell them all

Every time you throw him to the floor
Why are you surprised to see
He's breakable
And every time you push him to
the wall why are you surprised to see
He's breakable." (Fisher & Ron Wasserman)

Any person who writes lyrics like Chris does must feel things very
deeply. Don't ever think he doesn't care what people think of his music,
because he wouldn't be doing what he's doing if he didn't want people to
listen. And be patient - "Can't Change Me" and "Flutter Girl" are not
true indicators of what the whole album sounds like.....Personally I'll
bet most people who liked Temple of the Dog will like Euphoria Morning.

looks good, why cut someone up for making themselves look good? if he was
really selling out, he would have released an album much sooner in the wake
of soundgarden splitting. and used the publicity.

did metallica sell out when they cut their hair? did frank black sell out
after the pixies? did soundgarden sell out when they made superunknown? no.
so give the guy a break. if he wanted he could make an album of
verse-chorus-verse, 4/4-time, radio-friendly bullshit, that would sell
because of soundgarden.....at least be thankful that he's kept some fucking
integrity......

also, if you're going to buy a tool album, get aenima, one of the best albums

that song by saying something like, "This song was in a movie that nobody

It's a really big deal for Chris to be in regular rotation on KROQ. From
what I understand, many major market alternative radio stations model their

I don't think they played many shows together. It was probably back in '95
(maybe). I remember trying to win tickets on the radio for a show in
Toronto (?). My memory is pretty fuzzy, however. It might not have been
Toronto -- it could have been the Reading festival.
Anyhoo, SG and NIN are my favorite bands, too. I think it's cool that the
Chris Cornell solo and the new NIN are being released the same day.

Ok, a late post on the subject, but here it is anyway:

Check out the Moog Cook Book, it's got 'moogy' versions of a few songs,
including two BHS video clips and one sound sample of that very song.
http://bubblegum.uark.edu/Moog_Cookbook/ (Yep, the songs are in the
Multimedia section.)
For some reason it could be hard to go there (I just visited the page
myself and got various messages saying the URL wasn't correct), but it
does exist. Just keep on trying....

P.S The 'moogy' version of Big Me (Foo Fighters) can be heard in the
elevator in the Monkeywrench video. Pretty cool, eh? But yeah, enuf of
non-SG information...I'm off.

This is the first time I have posted here, but I felt that I really have to
share this piece of information.
I don't know if anyone is familiar with Napster, but it is a programme where
you can share mp3s with other people. I was on it today and discovered that
someone has the WHOLE of Europhia Morning on mp3s???!!!! I know mp3s are
supposed to be naughty....but if anyone is interested in hearing Chris' new
album before it comes out I suggest you go there. It's times like these when
I wish I had a CD burner!
I started downloading Preaching the End of the World, but of course my
computer screwed up, so I only have half of it. If anyone is interested I
guess I can send it to them though. I am yet to form an opinion of this
song, but I would probably get shot down if I did share my opinion anyway.
So I'll leave it up to you guys to decide and argue about.

I to only got half of preaching the end of the world. I really like it.
Its got a 60's love song kinda feel with an acoustic guitar and Chris sings
in a high pitch voice. It was suprising cause I thought it would be more a
darker song but I was wrong. There are some computer gen sound effects in
it but just for atmosphere. It the best out the 3 that I've heard. Chris
actually strains his voice a little in the chorus which is kinda refreshing
to hear.

I just saw hype! this morning and it was pretty cool. I've been more into
documentaries and biographies, so this caught my attention at the video

have been at some of those concerts, moshing start to finish and then some.
There were only comments from Matt and Chris, though. I was hoping for all
of SG to have some part in the film, maybe even Hiro, but, over all I thought
it was a good film. It shows how much happened in so little time. Grunge
was only publiccaly exposed everywhere for a few years, but look what it did.
Well, anyways, share thoughts on the film, if you've seen it. If not, check

Hey SOMMS,

I bought the new RayGun on impulse :) Well, I'll transcribe it and scan the
pix for all ya cheapasses out there, but I thought you all might like to
read the following :

"...(talking about pets)...He and Silver are trying to have a baby, and
Cornell figures that their doting relationship with their pups bodes well
for their future parenting skills. "You have to have a sense of
responsibility and a bond with this creature, whether it's a human or an
animal, and we've always had an amazing bond with animal. We didn't even
know we had that in common when we first got together, because neither of us
had any pets. Then I got Susan a cat from the pound, and she just freaked
out on it. She still has that cat. It sleeps on her chest every night. As
time went on, I realized 'Wow, not only is she a great pet owner, she'd be a
great mother.'"

For the record, they have 3 dogs (two Pomeranians and one white German
Shephard) and a cat (mentioned above) :) They used to have 5 dogs, but
appartly two were eaten :)
