I like the singing in Beyond the Wheel live. Well, the version I have
(Thanks to Liz for getting it to me!!) just goes off... Matt's drumming
especially. I love the part when BTW goes from broodingly stagnant, to
unbelievably powerful ("Mother, who's your man/ is he doing what he can) I
love all the lyrics on that song, but to be specific I'd have to say "Far
beyond the wheel, it steers your life, around" .

On the topic of Matt's drumming, yes, Freese's drumming sounds alot like
Matt.. but who can blame him? Matt is an awesome drummer (I'm 100% you're
all aware!) and alot of his fills are very powerful.. I copy his style
myself, and Kim's style... well not copy, but I pick up on the style. As far
as musicians go (And most other things for that matter), I'm sure you'll
agree that Chris, Ben, Matt and Kim are all good role models.

Ok, I think this touring stuff is getting a little out of hand. Bit fat
world tours aren't his go anymore, we'll have to face that... but that's ok.
Don't let it get you down - listen to some soundgarden (Or whatever cools
you down), do something relaxing, like playing an instrument or something.
Don't make it a competition to see who's the furtherest away from the tour.
Listen to Head Down, that song is the most peaceful calming song (In my
opinion anyway). Do something to make yourself cry. Everyone, take my
advice, pull down your pants, and slide down the ice.

Hey

This might be old news, but wow.. check out the hair! I like!
Nothing beats that long mane he used to have, but i'm not complaining. He
looks pretty healthy. Maybe a bit skinny, but okay.. Just out of curiosity,
has he always smoked? Does anyone know? does anyone really care?

Preaching the End of the World, or the three seconds we got to hear of it,
sounds interesting. Maybe he was going for that whole Beatles sound.. I
found it had a reminising-type of feel (know what i mean?) to it. Like old
home videos.. remembering fun times, maybe bad times. But I'd rather hear it
fully before I really say anything about it..
If it *does* turn out like a Beatles song, GOOD. I love the Beatles.. I can
then kill two birds with one stone when choosing what to listen to eh? ;)

Has anyone noticed that in the lyrics part on the Chris Cornell page it has
song 1 listed as "Change Me" and below with the actual lyrics it says "Can't
Change Me".. weird.
And the "influences and thoughts" to be shown on Wednesday (by the way it's
been Wednesday here for over 20 hours... but we know where the world
revolves around hmm? heehe) isn't just one link, it's two. One for
influences and one for thoughts.. curious.

Lastly, Jill.. you wrote to the list asking people to stop complaining about
CHris not visiting their city and you go and do it yourself. Frankly, i'd
rather be across the border from a show than across a wide ocean (your
transport costs aren't as scary). Please don't insult Canada just cos you're
wanting to see Chris perform.. it doesn't help. Australian dollar is worse
than Canadian, but i don't think that's what Chris schedules his tours
around! I have seen numerous bands in Ontario (eh Dave heheh).. It's a
gorgeous country, enjoy it..

i bid you all goodnight with a nice thought.. "nothing else is smaller" :)

I am a little pissed that Chicago isn't on Chris's tour schedule.
Chicago isn't just an ordinary city. The location (middle of the
country) would allow fans in less populated areas to shorten travel
times to see him. But instead, the two coasts get all of the shows.
As far as Canada goes, if you know it sucks, MOVE!!! Go to LA, it
appears as if Chris will be in LA a lot.

Would it make you feel any better if I told you I was coming to Canada at
the end of August???.................No, I guess it wouldn't!!!
Don't just think Canada gets screwed. Candy lives in Oklahoma and
Soundgarden never went there and she even offered them a place to stay!!

But if you are gonna get em through Ticketbastards expect to be pay
about a $7 service charge. they have decided to rape us all a little bit
more. Still can't believe they charge and extra $7 for each ticker. good

here's what i've been starting to think. Remember the FOBD demo? now go play
that. when it ends go play the SU version. B I G difference. So i've been
thinking that maybe FG underwent one of these massive re-writes, c/o Alain
and Natasha. it's not out of the question. in any case, them getting higher
billing on the Music credits to the song suggests this may have occurred.

Interesting point. As I understand it, Ben Shepherd's bassline made
the SU FOBD version what it was; it influenced Cornell's vision of the
song that much.

very true about the FOBD demo, and yes- it is a pretty good song on its own,
though i perfer the finished version. the subdued, almost exhausted way it is
crooned [in spots] kind of... solidifies the feeling for me more than
carrying the devil's groceries and the screaming chorus. I am also a big fan
of the video version. The quote chris gave to whomever he gave it to about
this song is one of my favorite cornell snippets ever.

lets just hope fluttergirl comes out this time NOT sounding like Bon Jovi
sitting on his big camaro, top down, out in the Arizona desert somewhere,
hair blowing, green beer bottle sand-blown on the hood and the sun setting in
the background. maybe a tumbleweed or two for good measure. ;)
