Subject: Chris Cornell Article

This article was in SonicNet today, thought you might want to read it. The
URL changes, so I'm going to copy the relevant points to talk about..my
thoughts on it. Well, its a great article cause I listened to cCm 6 hours
before its released...on ReavAudio. And Jimmy (who is his manager) is like,
his unofficial spokesman. ass. my thoughts on cCm? Beatle-esque. I hate the
"yeah" at the end of "what could she want with me". But I can see the whole
Beatles influence. No Pink Floyd or Jeff Buckley influences, but pure
Beatles. Anyway, heres the article
Chris Cornell Single Leaked To
Radio Will Be Free Via MP3
Song from ex-Soundgarden singer's upcoming album
will be available for download Friday (August 6) on
                  radio websites.

                  Senior Writer Gil Kaufman reports:

Less than two weeks after a handful of U.S. radio stations
received
letters ordering them to stop playing the new single by
ex-Soundgarden singer Chris Cornell, many of the stations
are
preparing to debut the track on the Internet Friday (Aug.
6).

A&M Records, Cornell's label, ordered 25 radio stations to
stop playing
"Can't Change Me," the psychedelic-pop single from his
upcoming solo
                  debut, Euphoria Morning (Sept. 21).

The cease-and-desist letters came even as some of those
same
stations were readying the song for a free download in the
controversial
MP3 format from their official websites. The stations had
broken the air
date for the song by nearly two weeks, according to
Cornell's manager,
                  Jim Guerniot.

"Tom Petty did 168,000 downloads in two
days
with no promotion," Guerniot said. "We're
hoping
to get one million. If we do, then we have
that
many e-mail addresses a month before the
album
comes out, and we can get [the fans]
excited
about [the album] before it's released."

                                  Forty-three of the leading
alternative-rock stations
across the U.S. will post the song at 11
a.m. ET
on Friday, allowing fans to download
"Can't
Change Me" (RealAudio excerpt) in near-CD
quality for an undetermined number of
days.
Among the participants are WXRK in New
York,
KROQ in Los Angeles, Q101 and WXRT in
Chicago, KITS in San Francisco and WFNX in
Boston. The song doesn't officially go to
radio
                                  until Monday.

Cornell joins a group of major artists,
including
                                  singer/songwriters Jewel and Tom Petty,
who
have used this kind of free MP3 download
over
the past year to promote new singles.

"I think it's a really smart move," said
Mike Peer,
music director for New York alternative
powerhouse WXRK KROCK (92.3 FM). "In
this
Internet age, this is probably a step in
the right
direction to get people interested in buying the whole
album or
downloading it when its available, especially since the
album's not out
                  for another four weeks."

Both Peer and Pat Ferrise, music director for Washington,
D.C.,
alternative station WHFS (99.1 FM), said their stations
have been
promoting the download on the air since Monday, garnering
dozens of
                  phone calls from interested fans.

A group known as the Secure Digital Music Initiative a
consortium of
record labels and tech companies is working to establish
protective
measures that will encourage music companies to sell music
online as
                  soon as possible.

Since February, when an SDMI committee began debating the
standards, the decision over whether SDMI-sanctioned
players would
accept current MP3s thousands of which are passed
throughout
cyberspace illegally had been a contentious issue.
Earlier this
week, the Recording Industry Association of America and
the Alliance
of Artist and Recording Companies reached an out-of-court
settlement
with Diamond Multimedia over that company's production of
the
                  portable Diamond Rio MP3 player.

Guerniot said he isn't afraid that free MP3s of Cornell's
music will take
a bite out of the rocker's album sales. "The Offspring
[whom Guerniot
also manages] had 20 million downloads [of their songs],"
Guerniot
said. "And they've sold nine million copies of their
record [Americana].
Are you going to tell me that they would have sold 29
million? I don't
think so. This can only help."

After a nearly two-year absence from record stores,
Cornell will return
Sept. 21 with an album that draws inspiration equally from
late-period
Beatles experimental rock, psychedelic pioneers Pink
Floyd, and the
emotionally resonant, baroque pop of Cornell's friend, the
late
                  singer/songwriter Jeff Buckley.

Using Cornell's soaring vocals as their focal point, the
12 songs on
Euphoria Morning expand on the grunge rock pioneered by
Soundgarden, adding swirling, psychedelic washes of sound,
snatches
of programmed drums, and funky wah-wah guitar into the
mix.

There's a mention of "grunge Adonis" Chris and his long-awaited (that phrase
again!) solo debut in the new Vanity Fair (Sept.'99, pg. 270). He's quoted as
saying it gives him "the chance to do what I never did before", described in
the item as "showcase his Beatles-inspired, singer-songwriter rock and
commanding voice". -- oh yeah...there's a pic!

In the Ticketmaster listing of Town Hall (N.Y.) shows, there's no mention of
Chris or a concert on 9/14. But there Is a 9/23 show called "a Night with
Secret Garden". Hmmmm.......(?)

Did anyone else here get a kick hearing the Buzzcock's "What Do I Get?" in
that SUV commercial?
Wonder if in 20 years we'll hear "Kickstand" or "Ty Cobb" in a Volantor
(don't ask) ad.

I have an idea. You know how female Tom Jones fans used to throw panties
onstage during his concerts? I say, if you're thinking about retiring your
forks, why not do it in a memorable manner? We can emulate Tom Jones fans
and throw our custom twisted forks onstage!

Well Khyaati, Let's see...I drove for 16 hours to go see Soundgarden
in Atlanta in the summer of 96. The A/C in my car was broken..it was about
100 degrees, I didn't have tix when I got there. The Olympics were going
on so everything cost 10x more than normal and the traffic in Atlanta was a
joke. I stood out in the HOT Georgia sun for hours to get in to the
world's most weirdest concert venue. Stood for another two hours waiting
for Soundgarden to come on. Was it worth it??? OF COURSE it was worth
it!!! One must sacrifice blood, sweat and tens when you are a fan of a
band!! Toronto to NYC piece of cake!!!
Chicago to DC....American Airlines ought to have it's A/C working!!!

And about Chris's fork....I'm hoping it stays home back in the silverware
drawer.

I give you credit Ryan for wearing one, working on an oil rig and trying to
explain it to your co-workers that must be a tough crowd to convince!!! toni

I drove 7 hours to see them in Altanta the winter of 96. Got a speeding
ticket that cost me over $400.00. Definately worth it.

Also, flew to Chicago to meet and stay with some pycho SOMMS Hootchies that
I had never met risking life and limb. Luckily, they were all groovie
chicks :). That trip cost a bundle too. Again, it was worth it.

My brother in law is flying all over the country this year to see his fave
performer.

If you have the means to do so, do all that you can to see the bands you
love. The memories are irreplaceable and they are stories to tell the
grandkids.

I plan on doing anything possible to see CC in DC. I had a chance to see SG
in DC the last time they were there and passed on the opportunity. I kick
myself now doing that.

I am hoping there will be a Chicago SOMMSFest reunion in DC.

saw ben's little skit called "The Grungies". It was hilarious, and i swear
that Ben was trying to imitate and actually look like Chris. He had the long

is so funny now that i've made this connection. Anyone else seen "the

My Ben Stiller/Soundgarden connection has always been from the Cable Guy.
Matthew Broderick's friend shows up to go to "the concert." He is of course
wearing a Superunkown T-shirt. I always thought that was awesome. Cable Guy,
by the way, was way better than people said it was. How could it not be
great with two die hard Soundgarden fans (Ben Stiller & Jim Carrey)? I

When it's over I want to play it again. I guess that's a good sign. Not as
good lyrically as Seasons in my opinion, but a good solid song. One thing
that troubles me is this: If it wasn't chris writing it, I probably wouldn't
give the song as much credit. Is it right to like a song better because it
is Chris Cornell? (I am talking just about writing and stuff. Of course

I like the song. It makes me wonder what the rest will sound like.
If there's a song like this, but also a song like Fluttergirl, it will
be an interesting mix. The beginning gives me a Wellwater Conspiracy
feel. I don't like the chorus. Seems to redundant to me, singing
"She's going to change the world" over and over. But in general, it's
a good song. Like many of you, I wonder if i would like it if it
wasn't Chris, but it is, so who gives a shit.

Subject: Chris's song, info, more thoughts..

Hey y'all,

Here's some stuff I discovered while getting the mp3.

* In the liner notes of ED, CC gives thanks to the following :

The Soundgarden family, brothers forever. Susan Silver, for love, space,
time, and environment. Pure & complex.
Special thanks to the Soundgarden fans. You made my decade.

Brothers forever. He really loves her too..Sweet. And Chris, no, thank YOU
:) You made my decade..

* The lyrics are VERY poetic...very symbolic and Chris seems to rely heavily
on poetic imagery. A wise step for a former "grunge" rocker.

* If you press Alt-3 in Winamp for the MP3, you learn the MP3 was made in
June, and the album was untitled. Also, the genius who encoded it thinks its
"blues".

* Notice the BBS and Chat features on chriscornell.com? How about CCTV and
Cornucopia section too? I still think Deb's site is the better one, but its
a shame that chriscornell.com has direct access to the man himself. Deb, its
ok to steal :)

* Chris uses a harmonica in Can't Change Me...I can't hear one, can you?

* If you have the Great Expectations ST, Chris' publishing company is simply
"Chris Cornell Music". Now its "Disappearing One Music"....make up your mind
Chris. :)

* The lyrics of Wave Goodbye are very sad, and bring tears to my eyes. Jeff
is a great influence on me, and to hear Chris sing about him, with simple
lyrics which hit deeply is something to feel for yourself. If you don't have
a Jeff Buckley album, buy one today.More or less, it'll probably prepare you
for ED.

* My thoughts on Can't Change Me? Very Beatle-esque, as I said before. But
the lyrics. I don't know how many people here have been in a relationship, a
controlling one at that, but this song makes me look back at mine. Same
thing with Sunshower. But this one makes me think of the women I've loved,
and when a songs makes ONE person think like that, I think its a good song.

Peace Out. I sure hope this makes a nice thread or two.

Dave

I love the song, which is saying alot for the first listen. Someone brought
up the question whether they only like it because it's Chris....well, I
think I might but I'm not sure. The drumming style is great (it's nice to
see Chris has a good drummer), the way the song sounds is great, the
guitaring at the end is nice (the guitar scratching). Of course, I probably
look for this things nowadays because of Soundgarden, but hell, it's in
there.

One of the things I like about the song is that it doesn't sound like
anything else out there at the moment. It stands out pretty well....although
it's a little on the short side :).

The only negative side (and this is a big one) will be the teenyboppers. I'm
not sure if I like seeing a bunch of 12-year old girls going ga-ga over
Chris, his looks coming first and his talent second. I can imagine the kind
of concerts....

I wish the best success for Chris but at the same time I hope his music
isn't -that- accessible. Does anybody else feel the same way?

Soundgarden is my favorite band, but I do listen to mellow shit occationally
(like old David Bowie, Phil Collins, Pearl Jam [I'm joking], etc...- I
promise this is relevant). Can't Change Me is a great song, but I agree with
Matt- "it isn't Soundgarden." I feel sorry for those on this list who can't
appreciate this new material. As for myself, BRING ON THE ALBUM DAMNIT!

:) However, I do want to throw a question out there for all of you to
intellectually gnaw on. A couple of people have sorta already answered this
question in their reviews of the song, but it hasn't really been asked. It
was the first thing that popped into my mind when I heard the song:

If you did not know Chris's past musical history, i.e. Soundgarden, Temple
of the Dog, CDC Boys (remember them?), and various solo songs, would you
think "Can't Change Me" is rock? If not, what exactly would you say it
sounds like? Feel free to make up words in your answers. :)

May Soundgarden be with you.

i don't know if we should really worry about that. teenyboppers go for the
boybands because a) they're "cute young boys" b) they aren't percived as
sexually agressive. maybe sexual but not truly agressive. chris has 10 years
on most of those guys and definitely has a more experienced mein about him.
not to say he's being marketed from a sex angle like the boy bands often are,
but that i think he's percieved as more psychl ogically agressive. in short
(too late), he's too smart for the teeny boppers who wouldn't know music if
it bit them on the collective ass.

Be prepared... :)

First, i want to say that I gushed over the thank you to the Soundgarden fans
listed in the album notes. thank YOU chris, your Band made me realize so many
things and nothing can take that away, not even a crappy solo album.

"One Million email address".....is this all that matters? man, i hate to rain
on everyones euphoric parade here, but i cannot stand this Manager of
cornell's. Dave George sent us most of a pretty intriguing article at
SonicNet.com [as of right now, the article is linked from the front page] and
in it, Jim G says:

"Tom Petty did 168,000 downloads in two days with no promotion," Guerniot
said. "We're hoping to get one million. If we do, then we have that many
e-mail addresses a month before the album comes out, and we can get [the
fans] excited about [the album] before it's released."

and then later:

"The Offspring [whom Guerniot also manages] had 20 million downloads [of
their songs]," Guerniot said. "And they've sold nine million copies of their
record [Americana]. Are you going to tell me that they would have sold 29
million? I don't think so. This can only help."

alright alright, hold the bus here. the mp3 thing IS a good idea, i will say
that. god knows it's hard to get a song taped from the radio anymore without
some jerk DJ babbling over the first three lines. Thank you to cornell.com
for posting it.

However, i dont know, this whole thing just smells so.... LA to me. I mean,
the buying the house in "southern cali" and the photos i'm seeing of him [i
mean, is Dave Navarro the epitome of the annoying LA rock star or what?]
Especially the one on SonicNet! this whole "new image" is either really
really what he's wanted to do all along <coughselloutcough??> OR its being
perpetrated by Interscope. "ya gotta move here to do the album, you're
already recordingin LA with eleven, promo tour [ps- where the hell is
Seattle?], etc etc etc." but it all sounds and smells like Numbers to me. i
smell Smog.

In that ben stiller interview chris said: " None of the other [Seattle] bands
had much in common, except for what we left out, which was a lot of what was
going on in the late '80s -- where the songs weren't as important as a video
where you're flying in on a helicopter surrounded by supermodels." But, uh, I
guess times have Changed you? [NO i'm not saying he's going glam-rock or will
look and act like sammy hagar!!] but what in hell is CCTV?? Cornucopia? i
only HOPE thats not a bad joke/pun on "cornell." "New Photo Day" what is
this--- seventeen magazine??

I dont know. What i want to hear, mainly, at this point, are the tribute to
Buckley and the one with Cameron on the drums. I think i trust Matt not to
play drums for low-quality music, and this is what keeps me thinking "well...
you never know..." And some of the lyrics arent as atrocious as the ones for
"cant change me."

So after listening to "Cant Change Me" a couple zillion times.... I grabbed
my copy of Superunknown and killed my eardrums with it, screaming along the
whole time. I'm a Soundgarden fan, but i dont know if i am with Cornell on
this ride.

Less than two weeks after a handful of U.S. radio stations received letters
ordering them to stop playing
the new single by ex-Soundgarden singer Chris Cornell, many of the stations
are preparing to give the
track its Internet debut Friday (Aug. 6).

A&M Records, Cornell's label, ordered 25 radio stations to stop playing
"Can't Change Me," the psychedelic-pop
single from his upcoming solo debut, Euphoria Morning (Sept. 21).

The cease-and-desist letters came even as some of those same stations were
readying the song for a free
download in the controversial MP3 format from their official websites. The
stations had broken the air
date for the song by nearly two weeks, according to Cornell's manager, Jim
Guerniot.

"Tom Petty did 168,000 downloads in two days with no promotion," Guerniot
said. "We're hoping to get
one million. If we do, then we have that many e-mail addresses a month
before the album comes out, and
we can get [the fans] excited about [the album] before it's released."

Forty-three of the leading alternative-rock stations across the U.S. will
post the song at 11 a.m. EDT
on Friday, allowing fans to download "Can't Change Me" (RealAudio
excerpt) in near-CD quality for an undetermined number of days. Among the
participants are WXRK in
New York, KROQ in Los Angeles, Q101 and WXRT in Chicago, KITS in San
Francisco and WFNX in Boston. The
song doesn't officially go to radio until Monday.

Cornell joins a group of major artists, including singer/songwriters Jewel
and Tom Petty, who have used
this kind of free MP3 download over the past year to promote new singles.

" think it's a really smart move," said Mike Peer, music director for New
York alternative powerhouse
WXRK KROCK (92.3 FM). "In this Internet age, this is probably a step in
the right direction to
get people interested in buying the whole album or downloading it when its
available, especially since
the album's not out for another four weeks."

Both Peer and Pat Ferrise, music director for Washington, D.C., alternative
station WHFS (99.1 FM), said
their stations have been promoting the download on the air since Monday,
garnering dozens of phone calls
from interested fans.

A group known as the Secure Digital Music Initiative a consortium of
record labels and tech companies
is working to establish protective measures that will encourage music
companies to sell music
online as soon as possible.

Since February, when an SDMI committee began debating the standards, the
decision over whether SDMI-sanctioned
players would accept current MP3s thousands of which are passed throughout
cyberspace illegally
had been a contentious issue. Earlier this week, the Recording Industry
Association of America
and the Alliance of Artist and Recording Companies reached an out-of-court
settlement with Diamond Multimedia
over that company's production of the portable Diamond Rio MP3 player.

>Guerniot said he isn't afraid that free MP3s of Cornell's music will take a
>bite out of the rocker's
album sales. "The Offspring [whom Guerniot also manages] had 20 million
downloads [of their songs],"
Guerniot said. "And they've sold nine million copies of their record
[Americana]. Are you going to
tell me that they would have sold 29 million? I don't think so. This can
only help."

>After a nearly two-year absence from record stores, Cornell will return
>Sept. 21 with an album that draws
ispiration equally from late-period Beatles experimental rock, psychedelic
pioneers Pink Floyd, and
the emotionally resonant, baroque pop of Cornell's friend, the late
singer/songwriter Jeff Buckley.

Using Cornell's soaring vocals as their focal point, the 12 songs on
Euphoria Morning expand on the
grunge rock pioneered by Soundgarden, adding swirling, psychedelic washes of
sound, snatches of programmed
drums, and funky wah-wah guitar into the mix.

The singer is best known for his 12-year stint fronting multiplatinum
Seattle band Soundgarden, who produced
such alternative-radio staples as "Blow Up the Outside World" (RealAudio
excerpt) and "Pretty Noose" before breaking up in 1997.

On the new album, the ambient-acoustic ballad "Preaching the End of the
World" features Cornell singing
in a fragile falsetto, backed at points by pinging electronic effects and
acoustic guitars. Similarly,
expansive tracks such as the midtempo "Flutter Girl" and the dark "Follow My
Way" mix drum-machine sounds,
shimmering layers of acoustic and electric guitars, and Cornell's muscular
rock vocals.

During a planned five-date prerelease club tour tentatively scheduled to
kick off Sept. 13 at the Sanders
Theater in Boston, Cornell will be joined by guitarist Alain Johannes and
keyboardist Natasha Shneider,
two members of the Los Angeles rock band Eleven, who appear on Euphoria
Morning. Johannes co-produced
the album with Cornell.

Johannes and Shneider backed Cornell on his first solo venture, "Sunshower,"
(RealAudio
excerpt), which appeared on 1998's soundtrack album for the film "Great
Expectations." Also backing
Cornell on tour will be bassist Rick Markman and drummer Greg Upchurch.

In further breaks from Soundgarden's bombastic-rock sound, the new album's
"When I'm Down" features Cornell
crooning over a jazzy piano, while "Wave Goodbye" is propelled by an
elastic, funky guitar line and gospel-like
vocals.

The full track listing for the album is: "Can't Change Me; "Flutter Girl";
"Preaching the End of the
World"; "Follow My Way"; "When I'm Down"; "Mission"; "Wave Goodbye";
"Moonchild"; "Sweet Euphoria"; "Disappearing
One"; "Pillow Of Your Bones"; and "Steel Rain."

Lovin' it,

When people ask you what music you like, do you say rock? What I do is, =
I name bands/artists I like, and let them form an opinion on what I =
like. So in answer to your question, who cares if its called rock or =
whatever else??? It's Chris Cornell.
He's making music with instruments he can play, or likes the sound of, =
and what comes out at the end, is his music.
What he's done in the past, has no bearing on what he's doing now, He's =
doing what he feels he wants to do, we're just here to listen.

Oh, and about the qusetion 'would you like the song if it wasn't Chris =
Cornell', well you could ask that question about every band/artist you =
like, NOTHING is totally original these days, so just listen, if you =
like, enjoy!!!! Just be open to new music and sounds, I think its sad =
if a person just like one type of music, the more types you like the =
more chance you have of liking this new song.
If you don't like it, move on, but you can still be a fan of Chris and =
Sondgarden.

And stop with the comparisons to other bands (it sounds like this, it =
sounds like that........), do a little more listening, and less =

SO all in all, what I'm trying to say is forget about ALL other music, =
listen to Chris with an open mind, and hopefully, ENJOY!!!!!

After listening to Can't Change Me a few times, I must say that I am
proud of Chris for creating something as different as this. He could have
easily written a whole album of songs that sound just like soundgarden that
would assure him profit at least with us. This shows that he cares about
stretching his artistic limits much more than about raking in the dough. If
some of you have mixed feelings about the song, that's perfectly alright. I'm
sure Chris would rather have your honest opinion than have you say you like
it just because it's him. I'm sure there will be songs that are farther from
what we previously knew Chris' music as just as sure as I am that there will
be more "classic" Chris Cornell songs. Don't be afraid to state if you like
or dislike the new music, but be ready to state what exactly you don't like
and why you don't. I, personally would like to hear more emphasis on guitar
than is evident on CCM.

Just my thoughts,

Finally managed to get that damn thing downloaded and
Wow, it actually did surprise me, I'll give him credit
for that. BUT I'm quite dispointed by it. It's a
'nice' song, but that's it. At this stage it seems
like straight pop, which really isn't what I thought
Chris would do. Perhaps after a few listens something
more subversive will start to appear.

Everyone's trying to compare it to something, so I'll
compare it to Ben Folds Five. I think structually,
vocally and instrumentally (substituting piano with
guitar) it's remarkably similar. Sweeping verses and
catchy chorus. It even has a similar backing vocals.
Now I think Ben Folds is great, but I don't really
want Chris to go in that direction.

Anyway, I don't expect the whole album to be like
this. We were told that Can't Change Me was going to
be 'infectiously catchy', and it pretty much is. So
the rest of the album is still extremely promising.

Oh and by the way, I can't believe some of you are
seriously concerned that teeny boppers will show up to
Chris's concerts. I mean, come on!

Jay.

I think the song is awesome. The other band members singing fit in which was
suprising to me. But there are a few things I would have liked more of
though.

1. More of that high pitched guitar.
2. Singing Lower tone of voice on the chorus.

Besides that its one the best out this year.

Subject: My own thoughts

I asked a question earlier so here is my answer to it and other thoughts. I
definitely consider it a rock song. This is my *opinion*. I had no
expectations for the song (none for the album either) so I was not
disappointed or overly joyous when I heard it. I've never heard anything
like it. It's a very new and interesting sound to me. His voice was quite
strong and beautiful which, to me, is his best musical attribute and always
will be. The music is hypnotizing and more instrumental than technical
which I am sooo grateful for. Some of those articles I saw earlier were
kinda frightening! :)

Some earlier reviews called the song psychedelic which would be fitting to
the music, I think. However, I've always thought that term to be "light".
The music to "Can't Change Me" has some depth to it.

I don't believe there is an established musical genre that this song will
fit into so I'm going to do what I'm sure alot of us are going to do: I'm
going to place it in the "Breaking New Ground Once Again" section in my mind.

A small note to all those seeing Chris on tour: Enjoy it!!! I, like many,
got the shaft on those tour dates/cities so don't be stingy with the concert
experiences! :)

May Soundgarden be with you.

Hey y'all,

I got to thinking. A while back, when I was getting into SG, I loved em
cause they didn't write songs about girls, and sex, and what happens when
the chick leaves the guy. Which in my mind is cool. Chris wrote about drug
induced spells, 'Nam, dead birds, cars, and other stuff I deemed I could
listen to without wincing at another girlish song. I mean, I doubt highly
that there is a album released song that has Chris whining about a girl
(note that Cold Bitch may be interpreted, and he didn't write I Alone). So,
its a great shocker to me that he's leaving that lyrical element aside, and
actually producing lyrics like Sunshower (which imo suggests love, orgasm,
and passion) and now Can't Change Me (which you have to be in a cave on Mars
not to get what I'm talking about). Do you think being solo is making Chris
delve into other territory that he hasn't touched before? Is there time for
a change? I don't really know yet, I'd have to listen to his whole album (I
refuse to read the lyrics, its just me).

Secondly, Chris' new catagory. Rock would be the GENERAL term to use. Folk
would be another aspect. There are traces of soul, blues and even Latin
influeneces imbedded in cCm. I do love Latin music. I gotta admit, I ain't
sick of Ricky Martin yet. Why? Cause you can dance to that music, baby :).
We really can't say yet. I'd have to listen to EM a few hundred times and
get back to you. Why don't we just say Chris is in his own genre now...and I
think I'm getting it.

I think it was Niki that blabbed about CCTV. I think its interesting.
Whatever means the fans can see and experience more of Chris, would be cool.
I think we're in for a nice little pre-video or sorts. Some behind the
scenes action if you will. :)

And you know what, when EM comes out, let's all make our voices heard on
what we all should think the next single/video should be. Why? Well, Silver
Management is on this list. A&M is on this list. I'd be pretty damned sure
that Rebel Waltz and Interscope are on here as well. For Jimmy to keep his
finger on the pulse of music, he has to know what we like and to take that
into consideration. I'm gonna be biased here and want Wave Goodbye to be
the next single, cause a tribute to Jeff Buckley should be shown around the
world..

I'm out.
Dave

Fuck Ricky Martin... Everyone is all "He is bringing Latin Music into
the mainstream." Fuck all that. What about Ozomatli, B-Side Players and
all the other Latin based bands that have been doing it a lot longer and
with more pation to the music than gay ass Ricky Martin???? All he does
is fucking sing... these other bands are out there playing the shit live
with each member of the band getting credit and stuff. if any of you saw
the movie "Very Bad Things" or "Ed Tv" you would have heard one of
Ozomatli's songs (played when they are leaving for vegas, and when Ed is
going to Elizabeth Hurley's house respectivly). those movies were out
way before Faggot Martin came along. So i would give the credit of the
latin theme to these hard working bands from long ago through the
present. Thanks you and good night.

SG/Cornell relation: Ozomatli is on Almo records which i a side label
off of Interscope, Chris' ne label. Also The B-side Players are good
friend/played with Rocket from the Crypt who are also on Interscope
Records, and have opened for SG. Funny how everything comes back to
Rocket from the Crypt.

Almo Sounds is actually a creation of Herb Alpert and Jerry Moss
(ALpertMOss? : ) get it?? ). They are also the former owners of A&M Records
(Soundgarden's former label). As far as I know, Almo Sounds remains
independent of the recent Interscope acquisitions.
