>I was a SG fan 4 years before hearing them. Weird Huh.

As a fan of a band that isn't/wasn't at the height of popularity (like
Nirvana or Pearl Jam or *shudder* Backstreet Boys), I should be pleased to
hear this story.. but to tell the truth, it's kind of dumb. Why did you
share this? Sounds embarrassing.. something you did when you were younger
that you wish you could just erase its existence (like my SOMMS posts during
my newbie-era)..
Which brings me to another point (sort of).. it IS good that alot of new
people are out there after information on Soundgarden, but you know there
are heaps of places to get the SG basics from online and you should check
them out. Go to your favourite search engine and ask away! We aren't all
that mean to be wary of the newbies.. I can see that the current newbies
will one day be wreaking havoc (my spelling sucks) on other unsuspecting
newbies.. It's just how it goes. Kind of like semi-initiation i suppose.. a
testing of the waters, finding your place. But that's just my point of view.
Some people are nicer than others, some people are more tolerant than
others.. etc etc..

As for interpretations... I love em. Most people on the list hate them and
it ends up being 5 people writing them, 2 people responding to them and 10
people saying "who cares". But by all means, let the cycle begin.. (see, as
you experience the same events on the list more than two or three times, you
start to be a bit cynical and weird.. or is it just me...?)

Chat yall up later.. peace, love, soup, keep on truckin, yadda yadda
heheheheh ;)

Kogg

ps. Yeah Australian TV rocks for cool videos (like JCP) since the better
video shows are shown in the wee hours and are basically uncensored.. You'll
find very cool stuff played at 3am.. better than what you'd find on Video
Hits on a Saturday morning (kind of like rumaging through second hand bins
in a tiny hidden away record store as opposed to going to HMV) At least it
used to be like that.. i'm not really up to date with tv programming lately.
Rage used to have 'Seattle specials' on every now and then and they included
a chunk of glorious SG... ooooh aaahhhhh *going to the VCR* (oh yeah, bite
me, the guy who hates the action stuff in emails.. live a little. Plain text
& no emotives sucks)

Why doesn't it surprise me that Manson picked JCP? What channel was this?

hi SOMMS,
I just want to complain that SG (like most
cool bands) were ignoring The Holy Land
during their tours. Now it's sad for me to
know that SG will never have a gig in
Jerusalem.Well don't tell me about the
human rights being underhonored here or
the unstable peace that scares away the
rock singers.Metallica is the live counter-example
(they're to play here 7.20.99).
So if Chris could read this,I'd have sung him
the "Alice Mudgarden" song:
"You ain't right - You ain't right"
Anyway, you may say that if I want to go
to cool shows, I'd better move to Seattle.
That's what I'll do some day,
but who can promise me I will see
a SG ever?....

I agree with Lizzy. I've been a SG fan now for about ten years, but I've
only joined the list a short while ago. However, it seems that people are
desperate to overdo the veteran thing and knock new people who were
probably into SG before them anyway. Dates shouldn't matter and subject
fascism should really be avoided. So, although it makes sense that older
people on the list will be frustrated, and Jen is certainly right that the
ancient SOMMS archives should be checked out, I feel that ignoring
unnecessary posts would be alot easier, and then we can get on with
discussing lyric interpretation, or new info, or whatever it is that makes
different fans tick.

hey guys,

i think you should all start listening to your local rock stations and
calling them in because here in GA they're playing Cant Change Me this
weekend.

I heard a SHORT clip of it. IT's...... Blow Up.../Sunshower. yep, it is.
Pretty much right along those lines, drama with some bells a la Black Cat but
not as hyperactive as those bells. just softer bells.

anyway i dont have the computer for long and i wont be on again until Sunday
so DONT barrage me with comments. That's all i heard of it, about 3 lines of
the song and it sounds exactly like its written.

Cheers Interscope,
 mindriot

I got back yesterday from a weeks vacation. I saw a message that said
something like "what was the song that got you into SG?". It made me think
about when I first started to like SG and I just decided to write it down at
the risk of being beaten up by veteren SOMMSTERS. I've only been on the
list for about 3-4 months. Sorry it was kinda pointless putting it in.

hi, i've got the burden in my hand limited edition single, that comes with a
poster and in a cardboard sleeve. It has BIMH, shes a politician, bleed
together and a UK interview with chris on it. Anybody know how rare/valuable
this is, and anybody interested in a trade?

i just got down under on the upside as well (woohoo!) but thats not to
trade. i wish i had just bought it when it was out.

i also saw the JCP video on rage. This was on before when Manson was first
on rage during his oz tour. The one last saturday was repeated.

Read Arden's page. I went through all the interpretations, they're =
excellent. And yes, interpretations are awesome.=20

I've never seen SG. And I narrowly missed one of their biggest show's =
ever in Sydney. And you don't have to go to Seattle for great music (I =
mean, sure, Seattle is the 'Holy Land' of great music) but there are =
other great places, Brisbane Australia has some awesome alternative =
bands, as for places like Montreal, etc.. Music is what you make of it.=20

Bah, enough flaming. =3D)
Robert, about that UK single, what country are you in, and would you be =
interested in a 2:1 trade?
