Hi friends!

Someone out there seems to be forgetting this obsession the US
has with a little something we call censorship. The real videos of
BHS, Outshined, and Pretty Noose, so far as I`ve seen, have only
been played in Canada. With a few exceptions of course, but the=20
point being that it`s a sad state of affairs when a band like this is
forced to make 2 versions of a video b/c the original is banned in
their own country! We see so much worse in the movies and in=20
real life, how is JCP going to warp minds? Just my 2cents, 1.3cents

were ever censored for anything.

I agree with Toni. Give it a rest. I recall Vicki telling us her and HER
BOYFRIEND were going together to have lunch with Chris. And I also
recall a good number of list members dogging her out for paying such a
large amount of money to have lunch with him, like she was paying for a
prostitute or something. Maybe she got sick of hearing all the bull shit
and decided not to share her experience with all the list critics out
there. And maybe, just maybe she doesn't give a fuck about what you all
think.

I'm probably talking to myself here :-) but Can't Change Me will be released
as a single in good old Blighty on August 30th (source: Kerrang! of course).
No info on the B side - my hunch is it may be Sunshower - or what/how many
formats there will be.

The album itself is out here 20th September - a whole day before the USA!

My guess is that there won't be one (though I hope I'm wrong). They'll make us
wait for the rest of the songs.

The b-side is gonna be a solo version of "Black Hole Sun" and "Mind
Riot". Both recorded live from the US tour's of their respective years.

Well, they weren't censored in the same way as JCP, but they were edited for
content. Actually, every Soundgarden video ever to air has been edited for
content.

Well two people voted Pretty Noose, plus I haven't seen the whole thing, only
a clip, so I choose PN, and since it aired very few times, I'm sure most
other people have either never seen it or only seen part of it, so how about
it? If anyone wants another video, send in some feedback, but right now, I
think Pretty Noose stands. As for the date, everyone go to
http://www.mtv.com/mtv/tubescan/trl99_new and vote for Pretty Noose on July
3rd or 4th. That way, since it's a weekend, it gives people two days to vote
instead of just a few hours of one day, plus we can celebrate a new week with
Soundgarden if it airs on Monday. Remember, tell your friends to vote for it
too.

I hate to break it to you all... but it's not gonna work. Mtv are
bastards and only play the current stuff. I have given up all hope of
seeing something older than a year on the station. I don't even bother
watching it now. So don't get your hopes all up cause it's not gonna
work. there is a small, and i mean small, chance it will work but it has
yet to work when others have tried to flood em with a video request.

The only chance a SG video has of getting on that show is if it's voted for
around the time a little before Cornell's solo album comes out. The NKOTB
thing worked because two ex-members were launching solo careers. But when
people tried to vote for Nirvana and/or Pearl Jam around the first week of
April, it failed (and there was lots of people voting, enough to make the
countdown), since current album sales and radio airplay also determine what
video get on, along with video requests.

I for one am getting sick of hearing how "oh no maybe not this video, how

Just DO IT and hope for the best..

But remember MTV is not the centre of the universe and nor should it be..

Bad idea. Many of us will be busy the 4th of July weekend. Plus, I notice
that SOMMS gets few messages on the weekends, so a better idea would
probably be this coming Monday - Friday.

I'm going to probably throw up a page where you can vote for Pretty Noose
just by clicking one button....I'm not making any promises though. I'm
looking at the HTML source of the MTV site and I don't know if it's
possible, but maybe there's a way around that.

ya know i did a little more thinking about this and i think it's more than
loosely connected to SG. well. look at it like this...... look how up in arms
WE the simple fans are about one single artist from A&M. apparently, and i've
heard some random snippets of God Lives Underwater stuff [a friend of mine is
buddies with the singer] and they haven't been getting sh*t for attention
either. I can't imagine the A and M of A&M being happy with it, really, since
all i've ever heard about the label was it's relationship with its signed
artists was very good. So, this being said, that latest blowup in the LA
Times about Ricky Martin and chris cornell and Britney spears and all that
jazz might have been the final straw.... maybe this was all in the works
before hand. shrug. interseting, though, deb. very much so, thank you for
posting it.

ps- about the single as well.... we all know we'll end up buying it, annoyed
by the delay or not. :) not always a bad thing.

NEW FANS?! NO!! SOUNDGARDEN IS MINE! MIIINNNE!!

I'm okay now.

Anyway, I agree with Eric, MTV might consider playing some SG stuff when his
album is released otherwise, don't hold your breathe. MTV, like most radio
stations, is just a marketing tool. They pander to people who's life
revolves around "being cool" and jumping on the latest bandwagon.

hello dearest sommsters.

man. sad day... Matt Lukin left mudhoney within the past couple days, and=20
Mudhoney left Reprise as well. all of it's been confirmed blah blah you can=20

damn shame to lose mudhoney. they really were a few of the most memorable an=

And now, directly relating all of this to WWC and Mr. Cameron. ok, in a Mtv=20
release of the Mudhoney semi-break-up / Lukin leaving news, the website=20
reported that:

"Inside sources say Turner is also about to link up with the Wellwater=20
Conspiracy, a band anchored by former Soundgarden members Ben Shepherd and=20
Matt Cameron."

taken from::  http://mtv.com/news/headlines/990624/story12.html

BUT wait! theres more!

Issue numero tres: the new Pearl Jam record. according to an allstar=20

"When asked what differences fans might expect from the new Pearl Jam=20

"That=92s going to be the big difference on the record," boasts Ament. "We=

Damn -- what the fuck is with 99.9% of the posts ending up in an argument?
It's either a stupid post/idea, so and so is lying, or whatever. Move on.
We got pass the "if you don't like it, delete it" yeah well, you can only
delete so many e-mails before you start wondering why you even bother with a
mailing list. I think everyone on this list is great, you're all super cool
people -- but you gotta start looking at comments in more than one
perspective, not just the negative side of what you see. We all don't think
alike, we all don't agree/disagree on the same topics. A lot of this stuff
is based on opinions, which is cool. But nobody on here or anywhere else has
the right to criticize someone else for sharing what's on their mind.
There's a respectful manner to tell someone else that you don't agree, try it
sometime. Sit back, relax and enjoy a cup of whatever you like. September
is coming up quicker than we all think it is. Till then, have a great
day/evening/night.

<3,
Tammy
