Former Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell is just about done with his
new album, Euphoria Morning, which was co-produced by his friend Alain
Johannes of Eleven. The album is due Sept. 21, with the first single,
"Can't Change Me," set to arrive at radio in August.
Pearl Jam bassist/ Three Fish member Jeff Ament has heard the album. "If
you can imagine Soundgarden making a Seal record, that's what it would
be like," Ament explained. He added that it was "really, really
produced" and the songs are in the same vein as "Sunshower," the Cornell
solo track off the 1998 soundtrack album from Great Expectations.
Cornell is contemplating doing some dates to preview the album.

Oh God....
I think I'm going to have to stop reading my SOMMS mail until the album
comes out. Then I can stay away from all the hype and all the posturing
about what the album sounds like. But maybe Soundgarden making a Seal
record would be good, although I'm not sure exactly how Jeff meant that.

I heard the same thing on KROQ here in L.A. I was wondering the same
thing. I hope it's not just a rumor and that they'll get back together
sometime in the future. The sooner the better. Take care fellow SG fans.
Rock on!!

ahHA!!! my mother is NOT delusional!!! did i, or did i not tell this
list, that my mother said that SG would be getting bak together and that she
heard this on my local radio station out here in Sacto?? see!!! this
rumor is now going around the radio stations and feeding innocent SGheads
with wishful thinking. who the hell got this idea that SG were reuniting??
i mean, i'm not at all against it, i love the boys and would TOTALLY love it
if i could see them live or know that they're together again, but how in the
hell was this rumor started?? is it because chris said that it's not
competely out of the picture that soundgarden could POSSIBLY get together in
the FUTURE?? come on people, this is nothing definate. sheesh... damn the
media for their far-fetched assumptions. i wish chris would clarify
somethings, since the radio stations on the west coast seem to be hopping on
the "soundgarden reuniting" rumor-band wagon. grr to them...

AND... about this "baddest hits" thing. i think it would really be called
that. i mean, just listen to how kim talks on hype! or how he reponds to
questions during interviews in articles... i wouldhave to say, it's not
beyond his reach to name something like that. ;)

Subject: Rumours

Addressing recent rumours and reports. I have a
feeling that B-Sides and this 'box set' thing are one
in the same. Calling it B-sides restricts it to only,
well, B-sides. So it's probably evolved into this new
thing, dubiously named 'Baddest Hits'.

As far as the rumour about Soungarden getting back
together goes. Well, I think it was probably reported
that there would be a new Soundgarden album coming out
soon. This album is no doubt the rarities album.
Somewhere along the grapevine this message probably
changed from their being a new album, to being the
band getting back together. Like someone else said,
they're not going to get back together NOW with so
much other stuff going on for the individual members
(except that lazy ass Kim!), and Chris only denied it
a few days ago. Do you think he's already had a
change of heart?

Jay.

Dave, I have to agree with you on this one. I dont think Kim is really
gonna call it that. I mean, look, they're already giving it a title 6
months in advance. Is that normal? I'm not too sure. I'm not really an
expert on hyping a record. I'm sure Kim will change it, because like you
said, it sounds like some 80's metal band with big poffy bleached blonde
hair and makeup. I think we should start a petition to change the name
of the album. hehe.

I agree about the petition. :) How 'bout 'Biggest Tits"? ehhh...just a
thought. Feel free not to respond. Let's just call this mildly
therapeutic. Thanks for listening.

Does it really matter what it's called?

I don't agree. I think that Baddest Hits is just the kind of name they would
use. It's just like Big Dumb Sex or 665; a parody of all the typical
metal/hair bands. Of course, there are so many rumors flying around,
especially about the b-sides album and them reuniting, this could just be
another one.
