on the 11/28/89 houston, tx video boot, there is approximately 40 seconds
of something that sounds like a new song. it definitely isn't any of the
known soundgarden songs and i don't recognize it as a cover. maybe it's
just an improvision or instrumental, but it sounds contrived enough to be
an actual song (and how damn cool it sounds!). maybe it was one of sg's
old, never released songs. does anyone want to listen and comment? i made
it into an mp3:

i believe that's the first 15 or so seconds of a black sabbath song =

by the guys in it's entirety because if you listen closely to the end of =
the mp3, chris says "we don't really know that song"

Hey guys

I overheard a guy programming his mobile phone to ring with a certain tune
(programmed one note at a time via keypad of course) and i was wondering if
anyone's got (or knows of) a cool Soundgarden ring (and like the buttons you
press).. I have no clue whether you can do this with only a few types of
phones or what..

Yes yes the flames. I don't know what all the fuss is about since Piece of
whatever "don't give a damn" what i think anyway.. so you're all standing up
for someone who either doesn't realise it or doesn't want it. And my crack
about "peace".. jeez it was a passing comment. Don't get deep on me
Kendrick.. i got nothing from your email but the dread that i'm alone in
thinking that money doesn't equal happiness, which is kind of sad. but
anyway i just wanted to ask those who wrote to the list saying how terrible
i am for saying 'insulting' things about someone else, what really makes you
better than me? (rhetorical question) You're full of insults yourself.. it's
kind of funny when you think about it. But anyway i'll try and be good..
k?.. :)

Hey you guys......

Maybe I4m risking my life here.....but I really wanna hear if i4m the only
one who have thought of this.......

I think that the track "Superunknown" is one of the best and coolest songs
on The Superunknown-album....

But i can4t help my self ,,,Everytime i hear the bridge-part...It sounds
pretty much like Black Sabbath4s "Paranoid".....

Am I stupid ?? Or Am I right...I mean , not that I care or so, but I just
wanted to hear what you guys thought of this.....Afterall you (we) are true
S.G fans and we should know what we4re talking about.....

If it is like this....It4s cool anyway...cous you can4t really deny the fact
that Black sabbath is a major influence for most of these guys...
So it really doesn4t matter......just wanted to get some input on this...

Take Care,,,,

Kenny

I concur. It would have been a pretty badass song if they had learned
the whole thing :) I appreciate Kendrick trying to uncover some of the
mysteries of Soundgarden live shows. When I saw Soundgarden in 96 I
didn't even know what Helter Skelter was when they played it.... but I'm
fairly familar with old Sabbath. The show in 1996 Austin show had one
intermittent cover like that, but I could never recognize it.

Later,

Bill

That cracked me up. Now wouldn't it be great if I could reprogram ALL my
ringers to sound just like the riff in Rusty Cage? I went through the so=
ngs
today, and in my opinion, that would make a pretty good ringer (I'd turn =
it
up real loud too)! Enough goofing around... later
