I just had a listen to Christi for the first time. For those interested who
didn't see Niki's email, Seth's site (gee, does anyone not know the URL?)
has two .au files of the song.

Yes, like everyone's said, it is heavy. You know how in Mailman Chris is
practically spitting his words out.. how you can almost imagine his teeth
gritting and an expression of anger on his face..? it is the same as this.
Except there's no "hello don't you know me" (which doesn't sound too harsh
at face value), it's like "you'll never _____ without me".. in your face,
thems the facts, you're doomed. It's also a tad slower. It's sort of like
Come Together's (the Soundgarden version of course) speed.. no, it's
slower.. I guess it's slower and heavier sounding than any other SG
release.. anyone know of songs comparable in speed that my tired brain can't
recall?

An mp3 would be heavenly but until i find the boot, or until a shock release
happens, i'll wear out these au files. :)

Thank you Mr Perlman!

Koggle

yeah, i like to think of it as a mating between Slaves & Bulldozers and
Beyond the Wheel, that kind of heavy music. But i can see all the Mailman
comparisons too, especially on the vocals. You know the break in S&B after
Kim's solo, where he's almost whispering and then kind of breaks into a howl
a few lines later? Thats *kind of* vaguely what you could hear Christi as
doing too. But its not howling, it's the grinding "you'll see.... you'll
see...." kind of horror movie-level psychotic / Mailman kind of growl. [yeah
kogg, a movie psycho is perfect!]

And I absolutely adore mailman and S&B, so Christi is right up my alley. I
believe when i first heard the song i went nutso for it. Hell, i even
transcribed the lyrics for the site that someone posted a couple days ago!!
:) i can't say how right they are, maybe i or someone should go back and do a
clean up job?? I'll think about it.

I was getting ready for work and watching the morning news and
this story came on about a guy who makes stuff out of duct tape. He was
in NYC selling the stuff and they showed him making a wallet out of duct
tape. CC was way ahead of his time. I didnt see if he had any duct tape
shorts like Chris in the Loud Love? video.
Oh, he was sellin the wallet for $15. I think a roll iof duct
tape is what, like $0.99?

you think Come Together was funny? i think it's cooool.. I haven't heard the
version on the album that has Thank you for lettin me be myself or the Me
and my Monkey song(know what i mean?!) i have it on a boot.. so maybe i've
been spoilt by the way coooool version.. But anyway i'm a huge Beatles fan
so any connection between the two is like semi-temple of the dog-ish for me.

But yeah i awake live.. and the slower parts of gun. I agree with what Niki
said about the part of S&B after the solo.. it's like that..

Anyway i feel like i'm rambling pretty bad today.. i'll leave it here..
heheh

Hey everyone.
I've been dying to hear this "Christi" song. I've heard that it's on Seth's
site, but I'm kinda new here so I don't know it. Could somebody please send
me the URL. Also, does anyone know what songs are gonna be on B-Sides?

Okay all, let's discuss B-sides for a moment. First
of all, is it going to exist? Second, who here has
heard anything of substance about the album other than
rumors? Third, for an upcoming album by a band of
Soundgardens magnitude, don't you all think that we
would hear more than rumors concerning the album?
Basically, I want substantial proff that this album is
being made. I'm tired of the rumor mill surrounding
the B-sides project. Some input from all of you would
be great, but as stated earlier, no rumors please. I
want cold, hard facts on this album. Thanks.

I read in a Matt Cameron interview that Kim is currently putting together
the B-Sides album and that he wants to release it shortly after Chris's solo
project. I have no idea what songs are gonna be on it though.

I'd be willing to upload it, but I have exams coming up so maybe in a
couple of weeks? It's the live version off the Reading Fest boot, encoded
in 128 kbps. Sound on a scale of 10 is about a 5.5 or 6. I'll let you all
know as soon as I get it up.

Cheers
