Actors should act and singers should sing. After all, we've already had to suffer through the horrific experience of having to listen to Jennifer Love Hewitt sing "How Do I Deal." It would have been interesting to see how it would have turned out, though. Judging from interviews and stage banter, Chris appears to have good timing and delivery. He would have been familiar with the character of Cliff too, a struggling musician trying to make it in the Seattle music scene. Apparently, he didn't get the role just because he didn't have the name recognition when they were filming the movie. If they had only waited another six months...
