I'm looking for the 11/15 show. I was there. I thought the 11/16-11/17 shows
were cancelled? I could be wrong. But if anyone has 11/15, I'd be your slave
for it. =)

Oh, god. What have we done to suddenly provoke this outpouring of
conscientiousness??? Why is a list full of people, who habitually brag (either
on the list, or on their own homepages) about all of the SG merchandise and
expensive CDs that they own, suddenly so outraged at how some fan decides to
spend their money. Remember that something is worth whatever someone will pay
for it and everyone will pay varying amounts for different items. Money is a
ridiculous concept and one way or another, it will be spent toward something.
High priced bootleg CDs, videos, import singles, even internet access seem
just as ridiculous to some people, but who cares? Spend your money on whatever
you like and dont let anyone who doesnt use their entire salary to feed
starving children, tell you otherwise.

I have sort of been following this lunch thing and I am not sure
if this has been discussed. Do you think, based only on the impression
Soundgarden gives us of Chris (which could just be an act) that he would
even respect someone who pays to eat with him? Sure it is for charity,
but it is easy to argue that you give to charity only to make yourself
feel better (that warm fuzzy feeling someone mentioned). I think it is
very
difficult to prove that there are any real selfless acts. Now this is
completely based on CC's lyrics so it may be completely invalid, but he
strikes me as the kind of guy who would think about that kind of stuff.
On the other hand, he is doing it for "charity" as well. In any case have
fun at the lunch and try not to over-analyze like I do.

Personally, I think it is a good cause & I am glad to hear a sommster is
meeting him. I would donate that much money to an animals shelter or
even more. If I had it & if Chris happen to be part of the deal well
damn it that would motivate me even more. =)

I want to congrats Vikki on winning. I agree with the other Sommsters
who think Chris would prefer a fan then somebody who is filthy rich, you
know those social types. I can understand why some of you wouldn't pay
that much to have lunch with Chris but, think about if you already had
the money & were going donate it anyways, why not? </a girl can dream
can't she?> Hell, I would do it just so he wouldn't have to he lunch
with some filthy rich type. Anyways that's just me.

Yes, they were cancelled.
Then they broke up in April. I never got to see 'em. :|

what musical projects I'm working on and uploaded an entire new song,
"Alyssa-Part II." So check it out, please. Why? Because I'm a
pathetic human being! (grins mindlessly)

My 2 cents...

~~You pay $25 to go to a concert. Someone else pays $3600 for a lunch.
In truth, when a band tours they are simply performing for the $$. & Mr.
Cornell is just being a philanthropist. No one gets hurt by it. When you
think about it, we're just contributing to the turning of our beautiful
capitalistic way of life.

~~Hypothetically, if the band is hostile during the performance, it's a
short-lived angst & in the end they are content. This could be likened
to Mr. Cornell. If he happens to not be very cordile that night (I think
he'll be very charasmatic though), it's probably just the surroundings.
But overall he'll probably be glad to have contributed to a good cause &
to get some feedback from a fan about the album.

~~Whatever you do with your money is your deal. But when you've got the
dinero you might as well spend it on worthwhile things. & hey, Ms. Vikki
Anselmo is helping out some poor animals in the process. It's a win-win
situation.

Yep, just another lurker
