Dudes.....

Yeah i reckon Chris would be kinda quiet, but holy cow, who cares!!!? At
least you get to meet him, which is only just a mere dream for most of
us. If i had won the lottery, I would pay ANY amount of money just to
meet the great man. He's that fucking good. Who has met him anyway?

oaky, no offense to vikki because the money she spent is going to charity,
but i just do not think i could pay someone to meet someone. i don't see what
kind of quality experience you can get out of spending a huge load of cash to
meet another human. there are tons of talented human beings all over this
planet, some good as chris, some much better. i have a friend who is a better
guitarist than chris cornell, and he levels me a lot on this type of thing
when i sit around and watch him play. it's just another human being, and
someone i can sit around and watch this amazing music come out of without
paying to see it. it's almost as if paying to watch someone play guitar is a
silly thing. and it almost seems really inane to pay money to eat lunch and
listen to a cd with someone...... famous or not.

granted, there is a lot of shimmer and shine on it. it is, after all, chris
cornell. but... i couldn't do it myself. there are so many things money can
buy, i'd much rather spend it on finding a lot of new bands to like than
spending it on having a lunch with chris, then getting indegestion from being
so nervous!! :)

 later,
mindriot

well.......just have to tell you this...my dear Sommsters.... : )
this dinner is a pretty cool thing....who wouldn4t wanna have a chat
with the man himself...?? !!
But I have done a cooler thing ( I think so anyway)
When the played in Stockholm-95 , at the monsters of rock .....
Me and my mum !!! we snuck in behind the stage after the show...
After tricking us by all the security ( don4t ask me how, the security
was pretty dense) we finally got sight of the lockerrooms...
Damn what a nice feeling....first I spotted White Zombies door.....i
entered and inside sat the bassgirl (don4t remember her name...with her
cat....she was really nice and friendly and didn4t seem to bother that
we were kind of "uninvited" anyway I ask her where i could find
soundgarden.....and she pointed at the wall and said "well , Chris and
the bunch are in there" so there i was....just one wall away from my
dream............I just went out and saw "Soundgarden lockerroom"
There was notime to think i just oppend the door and went in , closed it
and turned around.............................what a sight...........
inside sat kim, Chris,Mat &ben . All four of them 2 each in a couch...
chris was smoking a cigarette and the rest of them were having a
beer............that was the longest minute in my life....i couldn4t
think of anything to say.............I mean....i you could ask god a
guestion...what would you choose ???
So i just said like: "hi guys.......great show" and Chris answered :
"Hi..who are you ?? " Well i sorta told him my name and then came this
big guy and said ....."hey, who are you ? Are you working here ? " So he
threw me out........i didn4t care that much....I had seen them and
talked with them.........If only a few words.....but anyway...i4ll never
forget when I was in the same room as Soundgarden...call me what you
like..i4m sure that all of you would have done and felt the same thing
as me.....regardless what you think of this "worshiping-stuff"
just wanted to tell you that..........And Vicki.......Say hi from
kenny..

Bye

Here in Boston, WBCN seems to have put The Day I Tried to Live back into
rotation, as I heard it a few times last week. They have also been talking
a lot about Matt and Pearl Jam.

Who?!....ummm...ME!!

I gotta go with Niki on this one. I wouldn't buy a lunch with Chris
either. Niki said that she'd rather spend her money on other things, but
thats not my issue. I just find it to be somewhat awkward to *pay* to
spend time with him. Sure, it goes to charity, and its for a good
cause...yadda yadda yadda...but, its almost like you're renting out the
man for the afteroon! He's a human, not a U-haul :)
Don't get me wrong. Vikki, I'm *so* excited for you, and I'm sure you'll
love every minute of it. Its just something that I wouldn't do.
Rachel* (IWIWSS) <---kinda...not really anymore...)

Hey-

Does anyone with a CD-R have the Stolen Prayers boot disc. A few of the songs
on this disc are some of my favorite pieces of music ever...and my tape copy
of it doesnt cut it. I will pay for disc and shipping if someone will please
do this for me. Just email me if you are willing. Thanks for advance.
