It has small older picture of Chris and says: COOL CD: CHRIS CORNELL When the grunge pioneers Soundgarden broke up in '97, it was seen as a sign of the genre's demise. If anyone needed another sign, it may be the highly anticipated solo debut by Chris Cornell, the band's singer-songwriter. "There's much more emphasis on vocals and melody," says Cornell, 34 of the not yet title album due out in late April. "It's certainly not rock & roll the way Soundgarden did it" That's it. Arrgh! It's pretty damn frustrating. But I'd venture to say that there are two reasons for the delays. 1. It's Chris' first solo album. So maybe he's been working to ensure that the album turns out exactly how he wants. 2. With A&M gone, there will probably be delays for releases from all of the artists that were with that label. I mean, we're talking about big business here. I have my own company with a partner. And even with a small business it can take some time to make decisions and get things done. Imagine trying to get something moving in a big corporation. Just my thoughts... Think on the bright side. At least there will be new music from Chris. While I understand Kim's need for a break, I am disappointed that there has been no indication that he will continue to make music. It's been very cool to be able to hear new music from Matt and Ben. And with the new WWC release last week, I can bear to wait a little longer for Chris' album. Just a little.
