I believe Anson was referring to the fact that Chris wrote the lyrics and music
to Black Hole Sun.

I will thank you in advance for not spamming me and this list with your
piddly
attempts to get us to buy CD's through CDNOW so your little "cosmic
credit" program can help you get CD's.

Hey
I noticed the changes in the video too, way back when it was popular. Some
other things I noticed were:
Cheesey computer generated additions to the special effects. Also, in the
scene with the people staring at the lamp... In the original I didn't see
it but later they had some fake looking bugs flying around it.
I never heard why the changes were made. Myself, I always blamed it on MTV
trying to make it easier to understand for everyone. I kinda thought it
was cooler to have the wierd old people staring at the light for no reason
at all. I'd probably stare for a while too if there were butterflies or
whatever flying around in my house. Just my derranged opinion though.
I'd be interested in hearing the real reason for the changes...

off he goes...

I believe you are wrong Mr. Kinser. First off, that url does not look like a
cosmic credit url at all. Secondly, cosmic credit doesn't work that way; they
don't offer $5 coupons. Michelle's post was a sincere attempt to offer $5 off a
cd for sommsters. I took advantage of it, and would like to thank Michelle.

Upon further investigation, it does appear that SOMEBODY may have stood to
benefit from that url.

hey

alright, if MTV added those flies or whatever to the BHS vid, then is
there a Canadian version of the video, cuz we got muchmusic up here, so
are the discrepancies in the canadian version (if there is one).

I know this isn't SG related exactly. So sue me. I know some of you
will want to know this, tragic as it is.

Hey
I just watched the version on the Alive in the SU CDRom. It looks to me like the
version I remember seeing first. Though the image is a little grainy, I sure can't
see any bugs flyin around. The other cheesey effects are absent as well... no frog
toungue on the barbie chick, no blobs in the sky...
Anybody got an explanation for this?

Geez, I don't check my e-mail for a while and I get bombarded with rude
flames courtesy of Mr. Kinser and questions regarding my motives from other
SOMMSters.

Thanks Geoff, for defending my honor and anyone else who had posted
regarding my innocent intentions.

I do not get anything from CDNow for anything you purchase with that coupon.
I had learned about the coupon from an e-mail I had gotten. I don't recall
who the e-mail was from...maybe Geocities or Lycos. So maybe one of them
will benefit if you buy a CD. So what? The point is, if you have a CD
you've been wanting to buy, you can get $5.00 off. So, CDNow benefits,
someone else (geocities or lycos) benefits, and you benefits. What the hell
is wrong with that?

Don't worry. The next time I see something that I think SOMMS subscribers
may benefit from, I'll think long and hard before I share it.

just to add my $0.02... i always dug the "enhanced" version hunderds of times
more than the original. the video is just a really nice video in the first
place, but that ominous, flame throwing, comsic rock hurling Sun they added
later just made the video for me. all my copies on tape are sans the sun, and
i always feel like i'm missing out on something because of it.
i always thought the sun added the extra *oomph!* to the video that it
needed.
