I would buy anything with Ben's face on it!

Jen (still waiting for that Ben version of "Sexual Healing" that Toni
dreamed up a while back).

Before everyone gets too excited about this whole R&B thing, remember Chris
mentioning Otis Redding in that mtv influences commercial. He's probably not
talking about R Kelly kind of stuff. Go listen to Sittin On The Dock Of The
Bay (in fact, here is a Real Audio sound clip
<A HREF="http://www.cdnow.com/cgi-
bin/mserver/SID=892176199/pagename=/share/ensotrack2.html/UPC=7567802542/disc=
01/track=01/ra.ram">CDnow : Items</A> ). I dont personally think that it is
too different from what I perceive a CC song to sound like.

And one more thing, I also do not feel like CC is an enormous megastar outside
of the SG fandom, that the press (or the consumers) are all that excited
about. Many musicians from pretty successful bands, dont again achieve that
level of popularity as solo artists, because the young consumers are too young
to remember the band too fondly and the older fans have a difficult time
"adjusting" to hearing the solo musician, sans their ex-bandmates. Sure, a lot
of people jumped on the SU bandwagon, but a lot of those same publications
jumped right back off of it, when DOTU was released. It got a pretty lukewarm
reception (my favorite being "SG is a band capable of breaking down barriers,
but on DOTU they settle for merely rocking out" ...rocking out? I mean that
seemed like their least "rockin" album to me).

To Whom May Care::

Okay, I just got back from a concert tonight, and I'm totally just blown
away. The Temple Theater in Tacoma (WA) just started doing Friday night
all ages shows.. and this Friday they had Nevada Bachelors (who kicked
ass as always! :) ), Goodness (who also kicked some ass!), Sky Cries
Mary (eeh..), and Grace. Now I *knew* Grace sounded familier.. so I go
to see who's up there as they start and I'm looking out and I'm like,
"Whoa, now that's one hell of a family resemblence!! I thought Peter was
supposed to be here..." and he just blew me away for a million reasons.
I mean, it was kinda like watching Chris.. he makes the same faces and
such, but he laughs and smiles more :) So I waited around for him to
get my CD signed, and my goodness, if he isn't just the *nicest* guy!
He stayed and chatted with me and my friends until someone yelled at him
to get his equipment off the stage.. but I did get a pick from him-
which was smooth. I apologized for just thinking of him as Chris'
brother-- he's so much more. That is one amazing family, I'll tell you
that. So in conclusion, if you have the chance to see Grace, do so.
They're very easy to listen to, very folk-y pop-y, but they rock out
pretty well! Needless to say, I had one amazing night. :)

I picked up their only release at the show. it's an indie so they're
just distributing it themselves, being lableless and all. It's more of
a 5 song EP than anything.. tracks are Spins, Counting the Tears, Sleep
Well, Think of Me, and Sober News. For those who dont know the band is
Peter, Will Evankovich, Joe Shaughnessy, and Colin Griffin. Can anyone
tell me who else these other guys played with? Chris is the only guy
thanked who didn't play on the album. I can make tapes if people want
them.

This is a really good idea =). I was going to do something like this
myself, with a page rating bootleg MP3's. I think the idea of making the
best live songs on CD-r is awesome....

Maybe you can have a poll on what live version of a song is the best
that a person's heard of....then, if a song is mentioned more than once
off one bootleg, then you can put an MP3 version of it on your FTP
server for everyone to comment on and see if they'd want it on an audio
CD.

That would be AWESOME...
