..sounds like Kim's typical sense of humour to me. Someone probably
didn't get the joke.

Hey sommies,

I'm not even sure what connection the Desert Sessions had to Soundgarden,
but I saw volume 3/4 at the music store the other day. So, if anyone
really needs that and can't find it, it's $13.99 US and I'd be willing to
pick it up for reimbursement or possible trade. But, maybe it's just not
that hard to find. For some reason, I had the impression that it was.

Also, I was watchin' M2 between games of fooseball and Goldeneye at my
friend's place yesterday and they had a block of Soundgarden on. I think
I must've come in at the middle, but I saw FOBD and My Wave, as well as
Hands All Over, which I'd never seen before. Not a bad video for back then.

No, it's not done yet, but I'm finally working on it again (witness the
mailing list archive at http://www.sgi.net/soundgarden/archive/). I have
no idea when the whole thing will be done, but the first big step was to
get a local copy of the live site so I can edit and search/replace using
Windows tools instead of doing it from a Unix shell.

Plans for 1999, after the new graphics and layout are in place:

- Redo the video clips as streaming RealVideo - no more waiting to
download 15MB MPEGs

- New audio clips for every released song, either in MP3 or RealAudio
format (if anyone has a compelling argument for one of the two choices,
email me) - I think it's time for me to acknowledge that AU and WAV are
no longer viable

- Better search engines for the site and mailing list

- Browsable and searchable image/thumbnail archives

- Move the site to a box that I own and administer. This is where I
could really use some help. If anyone works for an ISP or is friends
with someone at an ISP, I'm looking for a free network pipe, somewhere
that I can connect my own server. I need this because a) I can't and
won't pay for the site to be hosted somewhere, b) in order to add new
functionality to the site I need to administer the box and c) the
Soundgarden site already uses ~500MB on www.sgi.net and I need more
space than that in order to expand the audio and video archives.
