Sorry. You are both wrong. The most angry Soundgarden song is "Cop Killer." Must be dog moshing!! ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 7 Dec 1998 11:44:27 -0500 From: "Steven Russell Jr." Subject: Re: stomach's burning alcohol... Niki Freer wrote: > > haha! i wonder if it's got anything to do with the fact that "Cop Killer" was > written by an angry rap band? ;) Body Count is the name of the 'angry rap band' and in reality, they aren't even close to a rap band. They were fronted by Ice T. A rapper, who during 92-94 was the most outspoken critic of musical censorship. Body Count is/was a cheesy thrash/punk band. They had their moments, "Body Counts in the House", "Evil Dick" and of course "Cop Killer". If you liked NWA's _Straight Outta Compton_, not for the beats, but for the message....go and and buy the first Body Count CD. Both CD's will piss everyone off. Just forget about finding a copy with a version of "Cop Killer". It was banned and censored. I think one of Soundgarden's angriest songs would have to be "Holy Water" the entire song is an affront to organized religion and the ideas behind them. Chris even goes as far as to paraphrase a quote from Adolf Hitler (It's the Big Lie that's more likely to be believed). In terms of instrumental intensity it may not be a driving or as raging as Kyle Petty or Cold Bitch, but the words themselves and the way they are sung are truly scathing. I mean, "And I'm raped, by another monkey circus freak" is not really a line you'd send to your mom for the holidays. I've always appreciated Soundgarden's attacks on organized religion, because they reflect my own personal view points so closely. You gotta love it Lance ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 7 Dec 1998 12:50:57 -0500 From: MICHAEL APPLE Subject: Re: stomach's burning alcohol...
