This is the same club tour when they played CBGB's, within days of that show. If anybody else was also at "The Cat Club" show, please let me know privately. Thanks!!! Yea, it is true. Not to mention the fact that Matthew Broderick's character is supposed to go to a Soundgarden concert, and when his friend comes to pick him up, No Attention is playing on his car stereo. I loved Cable Guy. -- Craig Griffith: High school student, guitar player, King of Craigland http://www.geocities.com/EnchantedForest/Dell/8509/ "I may make you feel, but I can't make you think" -Ian Anderson ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 30 Nov 1998 16:50:42 EST From: UnknownGrl@AOL.COM Subject: sg on tv Maybe this will mean something to you... it means nothing to me... i don't get SUND or TMC (whatever they stand for) 11-30-98 12:35 am SUND Hype! 1996 documentary on the Seattle grunge scene features interviews and performance footage with Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Mudhoney, the Melvins, the Gits, the Posies, Screaming Trees, Gas Huffer, 7 Year Bitch and others; highlights include Nirvana's first live performance of "Smells Like Teen Spirit" 12-2-98 7:35 am TMC Hype! 1996 documentary on the Seattle grunge scene features interviews and performance footage with Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Mudhoney, the Melvins, the Gits, the Posies, Screaming Trees, Gas Huffer, 7 Year Bitch and others; highlights include Nirvana's first live performance of "Smells Like Teen Spirit" I got this from www.rockontv.com -rachel ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 1 Dec 1998 10:41:08 -0800 From: David Scully Subject: Re: Fave Chris quotes I'm sorry, but I have to say that I thought it was pretty damn cool when Chris started the Wellington, NZ concert off in Jan 97 by running out, holding his guitar above his head and yelling, "Ladies and Gentlemen, the electric guitar!" and then breaking into Spoonman. He he. See ya Dave :-) ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 30 Nov 1998 14:49:26 -0800 From: Christi Lopez Subject: Re: Fave Chris quotes Okay, okay...Ole Christi has to add her two cents... Here are a some of my favorite Chris quotes: Just before the band leads into MindRiot, Chris says: "Shut the fuck up! Sing this song with me...it's a pretty song...it's really pretty...sing this song with me will ya please, it's a pretty song...I want you to sing this song with me cause it's really pretty...you stupid little fuckers...you drunk fuckers." I'm just kidding ya know...I'm kidding. I love you as though you were my own kids" "Seems like you know these songs..... ..if only we did!" "Hey! What are you doing here? "This sides getting fucked up.. I've never see a fucking more bunch of drunk motherfuckers in my life.." "WHAT ARE YA SCARED?....WHAT ARE YA SCARED!" "Thank you ladies and gentleman...we're Deaf Leapard" "No....we're Abba...I swear." "Tonight I'm gonna be puking sick. Cause if your gonna be sick, that's the kind of sick to be. None of that fucking blow your nose sick....we're talkin a half a gallon of J.D OUT your nose sick. That's the kinda sick I wanna be.." ...That ole Chris Cornell...just gotta luv him!!!! == Christi- http://www.netcom.com/~iawake/sgardnworship.html _________________________________________________________ DO YOU YAHOO!? I love this topic! You have to take in mind that everyone seems to like the quotes from the concert they were at.. they're new, different.. unbootlegged! =) Majorly, anyway. Here's mine from the Dec. 18th, 1996 Seattle Show.. yay! It's kind of long, but I love it! The shows were postponed a week.. this is what Chris had to say about it: "Sorry about how you had to get that gut to cover your shift so you could come see us last week and then I fucked you up and you had to get a guy to cover your shift this week, but you can tell them next time I'll take care of it. I'll go in there and pull your espresso or whatever the hfuck it is you guys do. I'll do it! I can pull espresso!" Gotta love a man who pulls espresso ;) -Arden ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 30 Nov 1998 15:42:14 -0800 From: Andrew Snodgrass Subject: Re: Fave Chris quotes "This is my iron on Ace Frehley tattoo." -- -AS mailto:asnod@home.com http://members.home.net/asnod |-----------------------------------------------------------------------| | | | "Everybody likes my stuff! [wild chearing from the crowd] heh, sounds like their gonna do it for me! so watch your back." in response to some little bastard waiving a dot-o-blindness on the guys faces for the duration of spoonman, let me drown (i think) and some other dropped-D song (maybe no attention). i wonder if those hardcore rude boys that i saw the wall at my arrival in the pit happenned to dig their docs into the turd while thrashing? since there is such a wealth of them, how about some quotes from kim, ben, or matt? plus, a challenge to the drummers on this list. while practicing to dotu last night, i found my self completely stumped on never the machine forever. any of you folks out there lick this beat-keepers abbomination? how? thanks charlie ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 30 Nov 1998 20:44:34 EST From: Daniel Bolton Subject: Re: Fave Chris quotes OHH Man... Never the Machine forever.....one word... Impossible... you think you have it.. and then it just runs away...I gave up man... No way in Hell to keep up... I always loved that song...I think the timing is 9/11 ... if that helps any (didn't with me) Kim writes some weird ass time signature songs!.. you gotta love it though...;-) -Deek ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 30 Nov 1998 21:38:34 -0600 From: The Opon Family Subject: Fave Chris Quote, etc. > We all know Chris has a sense of humor...so what's the funniest thing > you've ever heard him say in concert? I believe it was the Feb. 14, 1992 show in Chicago. They were opening for Skid Row and the crowd was really obnoxious. There were girls in the front taking their shirts off and showing off their tits and Chris just ripped on them..."I don't know why you do that. You know, if you've got a hole *someone* will fuck it", and by the way he said it you knew that no way would it be one of them! I know we've moved on from the "good old days" posts (thank God) but I just had to add my two cents. Back when I joined the list, 3.5 years ago (man, has it been that long!) the "oldsters" were bitching about the good old days. As those of us who've been on this list for any length of time can attest, it has its ups and downs. And the example given was in no way the norm all the time. Just like now, a good thread would start once in a while and carry us along until the next lull. To me, the best thing about the "good old days" was that the band was still together. Otherwise it wasn't all that different. Kathie ------------------------------ End of SOMMS Digest - 30 Nov 1998 to 1 Dec 1998 ***********************************************
