Until yesterday, this release was just a rumor. There were no scans or audio clips or any sign the CFDCB was ever released. *If* i can persuade the person to make a copy of the release for me. I will make arrangements with the proper people and have audio clips on the web asap. Cuz dammit i want to hear it too ! :) If you'd like to donate money to my 'bribe' fund :) I'll send you my address :) hehe I've put together a quick webpage with just the scans. http://www.eng.buffalo.edu/~swr/cfdcb.html Enjoy! Oh god do they sound good!! Mark's voice is terrific and the bass is mixed up nice and loud. So, how is Ben's playing on this, you ask? He fits in very naturally. Fairly normal bassplaying, but with definite Ben flavor, particularly in River Rise. He adds a heaviness to the songs that, rather than weighing them down adds to the emotional impact, particularly on Pendulum and Winding Sheet, which literally brought tears to my eyes. One thing that has always impressed me about Ben is that he not only knows what to play, he knows what not to play. Exactness that still feels organic, and brilliant restraint. Add The Winding Sheet to the end of that radio show setlist. Somehow it got chopped off when I cut and pasted. and if anyone is interested I now have a review and photos up of the Bell show at the Breakroom in Sept. Jen ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 2 Nov 1998 18:50:56 -0800 From: Andrew Snodgrass Subject: Boycott Aaron Brothers..... For everyone on the SOMMS and Atomjack lists. This is related to the bands in some form. I just got back from Aaron Brothers and must tell you about this. I found and original copy of a concert poster promoting the Soundgarden, Rocket From The Crypt, and Pond show at the Mercer Arena in Seattle on Dec 10th & 11th of 1996, signed and #ed by the artist on the net. I was so happy to find it. I take it to Aaron Brothers to have it framed so i could hang it on my wall and have it forever. When I receive it back the order is completely wrong and they say, "We are so sorry. We will have it re framed for free." I'm like ok, what ever. As long as nothing happens to the poster. I then wait another week and get a call saying that it is done and that I can come in and pick it up whenever I want. So I'm happy to get the call and head on over. When i get there they take out the poster and there it is in all it's glory. The bright red poster in the bright purple mat and black frame. It's beautiful, except for I notice that the mat comes all the way up to the red, when there should be about a 1/2 white border where the autograph and # are. I then say calmly, it great but the autograph is covered by the mat. They say ok, well go fix it. They come out not more than 2 minutes later and say well we can't fix it. The guy who framed it said he cut the autograph off so he could get it in the frame. I just said, " What did you say" as my jaw hit the floor. They then tried to make things better by saying "oh, we'll give you the frame for free, how's that?" I was like, you better believe you are giving it to me for free, and your gonna buy me a new poster. They then asked where i bought it and all that crap. I told them i bought it from a guy on the internet and that it's not even for sale anywhere else, if anyone knows where i can get one let me know. They then said to look for another and they would buy it and frame it for me for free, no matter the cost. I then tell them it's gonna take me forever to find another original of this poster signed and #ed by the artist since there were only 500 made. I got one question for you all, how dumb is a person who cuts of and autograph, the one think that gives the poster value, so that they can fit it in to a frame, don't you think i could have done that and saved myself some money? Don't let you valuable artwork go to waist because it doesn't quite fit the frame. And please send this to everyone you know. -- -AS mailto:asnod@home.com http://members.home.net/asnod |-----------------------------------------------------------------------| | | | "Generation "A" or Generation "Z", | | Who the hell are you to put a label on me? | | This label of the week is getting kinda lame, | | The more things change the more they stay the same." | | | | "Generation Why" - The Reverend Horton Heat | | | |-----------------------------------------------------------------------| ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 3 Nov 1998 00:24:30 -0500 From: Michele Subject: Jason Everman::Mindfunk Hello all, I was wondering around the web I actaully found this webpage deicated to Mindfunk. Hey All Whilst rummaging through the SG webring candidates I usually come across some really cool pics that I haven't seen before.. This particular one was on 2 different pages and I am guessing it's from some recent work Chris has done.. I guess since the Unofficial site went down, I haven't been too alert when it comes to pics.. So where is this from? http://www.geocities.com/TimesSquare/Stadium/2913/approval.jpg Thanks, Kogg ps. don't go to the main site though. All it is is pictures and blank pages for everyone but Chris.. fancy that. It can get quite annoying.. ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 2 Nov 1998 21:55:26 PST From: Star Pancake Subject: Re: where is this from?
