Strong" Subject: B-sides stuff There has been a lot of debate for several months now about the whole issue of a B-sides release and what should or shouldn't be on it and the value of our long sought for treasures of Soundgarden rarities being lost and yadda yadda yadda. I have many a Soundgarden boot and several imported singles and really the only person that I know that gives a shit is me. So if I want to not buy the B-sides comp and continue the hunt for the rarities in their original form, the value doesn't change for me. But there are those who are just as crazy a fan who don't have the time or the cash to spend on things like that. Doesn't make them any less a fan or any less worthy to hear that music. And, like many of you have said before, someone who knows our beloved musicians as "that Black Hole Sun band" would never go on a hunt for anything rare, but may get hooked like all of us if they heard Cold Bitch or Touch Me or Fluttergirl. No sense in hoarding that to ourselves. I get excited to share Soundgarden's music, but I rarely have anyone interested enough to share it with. I guess my point is, if you are opposed to a B-sides release, whatever it may consist of, don't buy it. Continue your search and get shivers down your spine when you find something and value it as much as you would otherwise. I certainly will. But don't insist it is wrong for anyone else to buy it or for it to even be released. Okay, I think I'm done preaching, now. Just love your music, whatever form it's in! It's about 30min long. Ohhhh it's another main page!!! -rachel the anti-anti girl and for all you ska fans, i also added a bootleg of The Gadjits ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 6 Oct 1998 18:12:16 -0500 From: ebg Subject: a few more pic disks that escaped posting last time... 7" JCP picture disk, b/w is Stray Cat Strut - $15 7" Outshined picture disk, b/w is I Can't Give You Anything - $15 7" Rusty Cage picture disk, b/w is Touch Me (#4861 of 5000) - $20 If you want all three I'll pay the shipping, otherwise add a couple bucks for postage. I dont have much to trade but I'd do just about anything to get my hands on a copy that show. On another note, whats the SOMMS owners count up to now? My bro picked up DJ Shadow's new album today and on one of the songs sounds like he uses a sample of Mind Riot. It's pretty distinct to. The only thing is he slowed it down just a bit. -- -AS mailto:asnod@home.com http://members.home.net/asnod |-----------------------------------------------------------------------| | | | "Flavor Flav is in every thing ya eat 'cause every thing ya eat | | got's flava!" | | | | -Flavor Flav, Public Enemy | | | |-----------------------------------------------------------------------| ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 6 Oct 1998 23:07:10 EDT From: Nick Boos Subject: Re: Bootlegs?
