Hi I'm a long time lurker, sometime poster.

Just wanted to say I became a fan with DOTU and have been working my way
backwards through the SG catalogue.  Last night I finally bought Louder
Than Love.  Initially I was surprised at how different it is from thier
later work but quickly I was drawn in by its inherent Soundgardenness.
My early favorite is Gun.  It's hard to believe they recorded it ten years
ago because it feels so relevant to me today.  Ten years after this
recording and two years after their last they continue to win people over.

It's so great to have "new material" I just wanted to share the moment
with everyone.  I wish all of you could hear it for the first time all
over again.

   You are very lucky to be "falling in love" with Soundgarden's music for
the first time!  What a wonderful feeling!<sigh> We all have those fond
memories of hearing Soundgarden and having it leave some sort of indelible
mark on our brain and musical soul...hence becoming the Soundgarden freaks
we are today!!!!
   I have the house all to myself today. I think I am going to stack the
Soundgarden CD's next to the stereo and ROCK OUT all day!!!  Make a few
tapes also(not forgetting you Fredrik!), gaze at my new posters and enjoy

I just received a tape, and I can't make out who sent it. The outside
"return address" got wet (rain), but the tapes okay. I have no clue who
"Arlene" is, which I think is the name written on there. Whoever this
is, could you please e-mail me privately, and give me your "return
address". Also, for future reference: Whoever's still sending tapes,
please write your name and address on a piece of paper. I also just
caught the full CC influence commercial on video tape,mmm!! I'll be a
sweetheart and dub that on also, for the tapes I still have to dub. Let
me know privately, if for some reason you don't want that on there.

So for those of you that caught the SNL performance, either on the day it
originally aired or the reruns, this might have/might not have caught you eye.

Rachel IMed me and asked me what the hell was written on Matt's bass on his
kit (she thought it might have said Somms c7 or something like that). Shame on
me, cause I didn't seem to notice that.. I was looking elsewhere. So I popped
in the tape and looked deep and hard... most of the time inbetween Kimmy's
legs (not bad though). And so the camera guy did a shot: a front close up on
Matt down to and over to Chris and "wa-la!" the bass read, "Go Sonics!"

So there. Maybe now I'll keep looking at Matt's b.d. for some messages from
the guys or whatnot.

 I'm in a bit of a silly mood, and I have DOTU on right now... and i was
listening to the first time you hear cornell sing, and for the life of me it
sounds like "no one can save...paragraph...no one can save them at all..." and
it *always* did before too. :) i know the lyrics and what not, it's just
another one of those mumbling Cornell things that causes people to go "No!
it's *shedding*!" "no way man! he's saying *shitting* for sure."

Ok. Kim has supposedly put down his guitar recently to do some work for
us real fans. He already compiled a listing of songs for "A-sides" (I
don't know why "NTS" was on it and not "HD"!) and has talked about
releasing an all b-sides compilation. Maybe Kim is out there listening
to us at SOMMS and is looking for ideas. Well, here's my idea. The first

thing that would be released is a video with all their unedited music
videos on it (Flower/ Loud Love/ Hands All Over/ Jesus Christ Pose/
Outshined/ Spoonman/ Black Hole Sun/ Superunknown(CD+ version)/ Fell On
Black Days/
My Wave/ The Day I Tried To Live/ Kickstand/ Pretty Noose <2 versions>/
Burden In My Hand/ Blow Up The Outside World)
Also on the video (if there was room), would be a few live songs that
were either rarely played live or only played live once. That video
would be released two weeks before the date of the b-sides collection.
They might also be able to make the video a dual one. For example Vid
#1=Music videos-interview clips-misc. stuff  Vid #2=Live performances.
It would
go for about $30-35 american dollars if it were doubled or $15-20 if it
were a single video.
 The cd collection would have to be a quadruple release!! The  cd's
would just contain b-sides off of singles and ep tracks, along with
comp. and soundtrack takes    ***Here are ALL the versions and every
official release that could be compiled***

 I THINK THAT THIS IS A GREAT IDEA AND A COMPREHENSIVE GUIDE TO THE

Do you own a Soundgarden bootleg?

If you do you better not be holding back from me! I have a web page to
create and I need info from the biggest fans in the WORLD!!! PLEASE guys
help yourself out. Once I get this thing up and running there will be
TWICE as many boots than on the page by Steven Russell Jr.! This is a
good thing :) It will provide accurate dates, where to find the
show/song(s) on bootleg cd, and many notes on the concert so you don't
get mixed up.

That listing is pretty damn cool
I haven't posted in a while and I haven't been 100% comprehensive in the
postings on SOMMS  lately, but, I'm just wondering, has anyone taken it upon
themselves to do something like this? Like make their own?
Also, I was thinking, and this is just in a very advanced stage- I just got a
new PC with a CD-R so I was thinking of making some kind of compilation of
MP3s(so more can fit on one disk) of rare SG songs. If I decide to do it, I'll
E-mail the list asking for web adresses and for people to send me through E-
mail whatever rare stuff they can code- this might or might not happen. Also,
does anyone have a tape with all the SG videos on it? I hate MTV and have
never tried to convince my parents to order it but I wanna see the videos!!!
so if anyone has a tape and wouldn't mind making a copy, I'll send over a tape
and/or $$$ for the vids cuz I want to see these videos really bad.
