I just got the new WWC single, the Compellor/In Pursuit of Gingerbread Men. I ordered it direct from Super Electro and they got it to me incredibly fast (and threw in a mudhoney bumbersticker too). In Pursuit... is an amusing little strange instrumental, but The Compellor-- oh god! This song is so fucking good, and Matt's vocals are out of this world! Forget anything I said about how cool it would be for him to join PJ. He needs to be in a band where he can sing a lot! Very catchy tune. Very sixties. Even a bit of a Posies feel in places. Glen Slater plays a really retro keyboard part, Josh Homme plays bass. McBain plays guitars. No Ben, but still this is a song not to be missed, and now I really can't wait for the new album! I was all excited gonna watch SG on tv again, but NO! I turned it to CS, at around 9:30pm PST, just as Jim Carey, and the two Roxbry guys, introduces the band. I didn't remember Chris' voice be so jacked up the first time I saw it. Oh well. At lest I got to see them perform. -- -AS mailto:asnod@home.com http://members.home.net/asnod |-----------------------------------------------------------------------| | | | "Flavor Flav is in every thing ya eat 'cause every thing ya eat | | got's flava!" | | | | -Flavor Flav, Public Enemy | | | |-----------------------------------------------------------------------| ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 1 Oct 1998 21:51:01 -0500 From: Jon-Paul Andolina Subject: SNL and SG This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ------=_NextPart_000_0014_01BDED85.9450D2C0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable I thought it was great to see SG on SNL last night that must have been = the only time ive seen them play "live" (geez thats a long tape delay) = that they were actually playing ive seen lolla video clips and stuff = like that but never saw them play live (what a neglected person i am) = but at least though the mirciale of bootlegs ive heard them live... I saw Rick Moranis, Roseanne Barr, and Tom Hanks, but no Jim Carrey, much less SG. :( OH THE PAIN!!! punk ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ End of SOMMS Digest - 1 Oct 1998 to 2 Oct 1998 **********************************************
