Regarding colored vinyl:

I paid $150 for my green Louder Than Love, and it was a bargain.  :)  Of
course, I only paid $40 for my orange Screaming Life, so I guess it all
balances out.  (Both mint, of course.)

Re: Mark & Ben in Europe

Should I spend an evening watching them play, or take an extra evening in
Amsterdam?  Ben & Mark... or shrooms & hash cakes?  *sigh*  Maybe both.

Hey everyone

Seems like forever since I posted.. is the address right?! hehe

It's starting to get coooool here in Canada, which makes the mornings
very difficult. Who wants to get out of their cocoon of blankets to face
the cold? I was all 'ugh.. i have to get up' today, but I had the idea
to put on DOTU really loud (why the hell not? I hadn't listened to it
for awhile).. as soon as I heard the intro to Pretty Noose it's like
yeah yeah!! I got up and I was dancing and all of a sudden you know it's
going to be a good day. :)

Conclusion: Soundgarden cures lethargy, laziness and warms a cold body.

It's from the Launch #8 release. Launch is a multimedia magazine /
cd-rom thing that is released bi-monthly i believe.

serious drug problems; the record belies the band's internal strife with

band decided to fold in April 1997.


So what's that about? Maybe Yahoo! is pissed that the guys are pretty "clean

There's a place called 'Love Music' that UKDeb told me about.  I went there a
year and a half ago, and they've got tons of cool Soundgarden records on the
wall.  I actually took some pics of what they had (and boy do they have a
lot!).  If anyone wants to see them, I can scan them and put them online.

Isn't this the same (or very similar) to what another site had said.
Someone posted it to the list not too long ago and I think someone (was it
Arden or Punky) had written that site a letter telling them that basically
they were morons.

I guess it just goes to show how quickly bad information can spread on the
net.

I'd be curious to know who it was that created the rumor for the "allegedly
serious drug problem".  That person needs to good swift smack up-side the
head...among other things.

Okay, here's my weird Soundgarden story:

A few months ago I went on a camping trip, up to a cabin that's near
Olympia (Washington state's capital). Because my friend borrowed my
discman, I had to use my tape walkman. The morning I left I quickly
dubbed the Australian (I think) single of BiMH (because of Karaoke, Bleed
Together, Birth Ritual....), and took my cassette versions of
Badmotorfinger and Superunknown, since it was going to be a long ride.

Somewhere along the way I got bored being in the car, so I put on
Badmotorfinger. Strangly enough, I got to the cabin almost exactly at the
end of Somewhere (I listened to side B 1st, then A)....

That night, I crawled inside the tent set up outside the cabin. Somebody
thought it would be a nice idea to leave the radio on all night.

I woke up around 5am I think, heard the last 2 minutes of Jimi Hendrix's
"Foxy Lady" :). And then...Sunshower followed that. I was thinking,
"That's strange, waking up for no reason early in the morning and hearing
Chris's voice on the radio...."

Later that day, going back to Seattle, I listened to Badmotorfinger all
the way through again, stopped for lunch. Then I listened to the BiMH
single I dubbed. And again, I pulled up at home at the end of the
cassette, Karaoke (I changed the track order).....

Weird. Maybe this means something...

Okay..I'm gonna point out an important word to what was said about his so
called drug problem.  The keyword there is allegedly.  Meaning that it's a
non-proven accusation and or statement.  They're not saying it's a FACT he had
drug problems during that time.  May have been something they had heard (you
know how rumors go)  BUT if you were wise enough to check out Deb's kick ass
site, you could of read the article called "Plaid Boys Inc".   You would of
found something that relates to this.
Read this...

"Chris has looked bloody awful before.  When he was pre-pubsecent living with
his large family in Seattle, he got into drugs.  Big time.  It's something
he's been thinking about quite a lot recently because, when he was writing
lyrics for Down on the Upside, he decided unconciously to look back at his
childhood for the first time. He will point to song - Boot Camp and Never
Named - but is as tight lipped when it comes to explaining their content as he
is about any other song on the album.  He is, however, keen to talk about what
an odd child he was."


Basically, that to me sounds a little bit more to the truth, since Soundgarden
was not a band known to have drug problems.

The picture in the background is SG playing at the Memorial
in Sacramento in November of 96. OUCH! Was it really two years ago?

And as for this below: it suggests that the alleged drug problem was
not extant when Down on The Upside was penned; it suggests that
the alleged past drug problems were dealt with retrospectively.
