Here's wishing Ben a very happy birthday. Welcome to the other side, darlin'. I hope you'll find it's not so bad over here. And in celebration of this day I am pleased to announce the birth of DownUndershoe, the unofficial Ben Shepherd mailing list (including access to a members only page). I got mine made, but it still said SG on the back with a pretty pic of the band on the front :) At the lawn area, people had their cameras flashin' but I didn't bring mine. << Matt had a solo with the spotlight on him during a song whose name escapes me and the crowd went wild.>> I remember that, but I don't know the song either :) << He was excellent all night..he looked like he really had to hold back to keep the drums quiet.>> Oh yeah, I could see his facial closeups on the screen and I thought back to the tapes and live performances of him with his scruntched-up "drummer face".. hehe, I like his "drummer face", so I was happy to see him on the screen close up! <> I surely noticed those brazos largos!!!! Whew! Somebody's been workin' out :) <> Yeah, that was the song I was thinkin of. I could barely hear him at first so when he did it kinda caught me because I wasn't sure, so I tried to get people to shut up. Then he sang again and I think I caught a clip of that on the screen. He's got such a beautiful voice, that Man! <> Of course he was! He was lookin' for me in my shirt. Too bad I was far away :( But I'm quite sure he was lookin' for me, yup. <> It was cute. << He was wearing a sleeveless tee >> That's because his arms are so big! The Man needs room :) - Maria ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 20 Sep 1998 19:13:06 EDT From: Maria Joseph Subject: Boom Chat Hey Sommies! I e-mailed Al, from Boom Chat, last night and today he gave me a nice response. It was about Matt chatting so I'll show you guys the messages. < > Hey there, > > I really enjoyed chatting with Matt Cameron. When is he coming again? > Would > you guys have him chat again? It's a great thing!! > > Take care, > > Maria Hi Maria, I love doing the chats too! We'll be starting a whole new session of "Chat Live" around Dec. and run them monthly thru April of 99. It's hard to coordinate with everyone's touring schedule during the summer months. I just spent 3 day with Matt in NYC last week and we'll get him back on as soon as he finishes the Pearl Jam tour. -- Al Adinolfi President/Janitor Boom Theory http://www.Boomtheory.com>> That's cool, guys! Hope our Man can get some free time to talk to his pals again :) Keepin ya posted: - Maria: Matt's Hootchy Koo ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 20 Sep 1998 20:22:32 -0500 From: tonerkin Subject: Ya win some you lose some!!!! Well, the results are in from the latest give away. Peggy, the ugly brown dog did a fine job today and the winners are: Barbara L. Strong cpsc@flash.net Pablo Campoy pablocampoy@mx3.redestb.es Now someone with a good memory might remember that Pablo won a Soundgarden CD book a while ago but I have never had any rules as to how many times one can win. He also might have won because he has been gracious enough to send Peggy and I many postcards from Spain. Peggy, the ugly brown dog really liked the one from the Barcelona zoo. She loves to get mail because it brings that friggin mailman one step closer to her snarling snapping jaws...she'll get the bastard one of these days!! Congrats to both winners all you have to do is send me your snail mail address and the Screaming Life books are on the way. To the people not chosen Peggy the ugly brown dog slobbers in your general direction and says "better luck next time...losers" What a way with words that dog has!!! Stay tuned for the next give away! toni ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 20 Sep 1998 22:03:26 EDT From: Barry White Subject: Screaming Life EP I'm looking for a copy of Screaming Life EP on colored vinyl. I left in December but I'd bet no one remembers me :) ANYWAY, since then I made it to THE Soundgarden in Seattle and it was very cool. I had pix of it on my domain but I had to kill that cuz of network binding problems with my ISP (blah blah..... :( ) Looks like I'm finally gonna get out of ShiT. Louis and to Seattle for college to chase my rock star dreams. I turned down the record contract I was offered in June because I would have had to move to Texas (and no offense to any of you Texans out in Soundgardenland) and I hate Texas :) Ok, so for those of you bored enough to read through that, you will be rewarded. Heres the good part. Want a copy of Deep Six on vinyl? The store right by me has one and I'll go pick it up for you for the right price. Now, I know SOMEONE who believes that they have a higher moral standard than me will mail me a speech about profit and generosity, right and wrong, but I don't mind because its their time they are wasting. So, once again, if you want a copy of DEEP SIX on vinyl that is in what I would suppose to be "very good" condition, mail me back. I reply quicker to mails at mechanix99@yahoo.com BTW, any St. Louis SOMMSters join our ever increasing circle since I was last on? Especially ones that may be musically inclined!
