I bought an import/bootleg CD from the Badmotorfinger tour, and the most incredible song on there is Slaves and Bulldozers. It's 12 minutes long, and 6 minutes into the song the beat slowly begins to change and at 6 1/2 min. Chris breaks into a few verses of Alive. The "...who you thought was your daddy..." part. It is amazing! ......So, it got me to thinking it would be kinda cool if he covered some Pearl Jam, but since that is all fairly recent material in the stream of time, I think it would be more interesting if he did something older. I agree with whoever said he should cover something by Zeh Great Zeppelin. It would be really funny (Hahahahahaaa!:) to hear him do Bohemian Rhapsody, but not very likely. :o ~Aloha Gunther ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 13 Sep 1998 10:27:02 EDT From: Niki Freer Subject: Chris covering heh.... what about Freebird?!?!?! mindriot ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 13 Sep 1998 11:31:55 EDT From: Holly Winkler Subject: matt and pearl jam as long as soundgarden isn't going to reunite (don't we all wish ;-) ) then I think it would be great for matt to join pearl jam permanently. I saw them twice with matt, and it was just the most ass kicking thing I've ever seen live (I never got to see SG before they broke up ) he just so much better than Jack. he sounds right for the job. and just think, we'd all get to see him that much more!! He really made us all very proud to be Soundgarden fans. I dont remember who said it b/c I erased all the old posts....but someone mentioned that they'd really think it would be cool for Chris to cover PJ songs. I couldn't disagree more. And its funny b/c PJ and SG are both my favorite bands but I just can't see Chris singing any really good Pearl Jam songs. It just doesnt seem like his type of thing. Not musically really...but vocally. I just cant see him screaming to most of the PJ songs. Maybe its just me. I'm sure you'll all let ne know what u think... Eddie Vedder = brings his own little thing to PJ vocally and Chris is totally different = vocally from Eddie. I really couldn't picture him screaming to PJ = ethier. I would still be cool though. -Liz-Mailman- ---------- From: rachel reisman[SMTP:janesez@HOTMAIL.COM] Sent: Sunday, September 13, 1998 12:39 PM To: SOMMS@MITVMA.MIT.EDU Subject: Matt with PJ/Chris Cover I saw PJ twice last week...on the 8th in East Rutherford, NJ..and then again on the 11th at MSG...and I have to say that as pathetic as it might be..those nites were the best fucking nights of my entire existance...there arent even words to explain how amazing it was...and for our Matt to be apart of all that would be amazing. He told me that the band is on hold until Hiro is available to be with the band again... so basically Truly is taking a hiatus. Mark mentioned that Truly is no longer a *career thing* for him right now. On a lighter note, Mark said that he is working on a solo album called The Dark Fantastic, on Up Records. It should be released by early 1999. It features Jon Auer, Van Conner, Mark Lanegan, Robert Roth, and Hiro playing in some of the pieces, with Mark Pickerel as lead vocalist. Sorta kinda like a "Mad Season" type of thing I imagine. I'm still trying to resolve the issues with the Truly.org website. We had some problems with name servers and I'll try to get that worked out this week. -Justin --------------D15FE34C79CADE5EFF4C398A-- ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 13 Sep 1998 22:35:41 -0400 From: Dave George-Cosh Subject: Seasons-TUCCW Update!
