Just a few things.  Hello?? (sorry, my sinicism is on the high now), not all
of us can GET much music.  I, myself, am stuk with the trendie-ness that is
MTV.   Oh yeah, Jesse rules!!  Shure, he may be retarted, but he's about the
most realistic thing MTV has on there.  But back to my point, I'm sure the
person who brought up the whole MTV/SG thing was probably just like the rest
of us losers who dont have Much Music.  It's about as damn close as we can get
to seeing our SG, if we don't have them recorded on vid already (which I don't
cause I got MTV taken away when they would play SG on a semi-regular basis).
        Another thing.  Please no Metallica box-set thing, for SG.  I think tis
cooler that they release things one step at a time.  I'm looking very forward
the video collection, when Kim gets it together.

Asshole. The two posts that I have seen ever posted from you were you
bitching like a fucking baby.

I think you missed the point about why we wanted to request a SG video on
that show (or maybe I'm just speaking for myself). It's BECAUSE of the
mainstream let's-play-whatever-we-want-our-viewers-to-hear-and-who
cares-if-it's-shit-as-long-as-it's-popular nature of MTV that we wanted
an SG video played.

I hate MTV. I fucking wish we had MuchMusic over here in the U.S. w/o a
satellite dish. During a vacation in Canada (I went to Whistler, a ski
resort) I couldn't sleep one night. I decided to watch some TV, and in
the wee hours of the morning, MuchMusic played 'Hands All Over'. And in
another random viewing of MuchMusic I remember them playing the 'Rusty
Cage' vid.

Anyway, I agree with New Metal Crown, I'll give you that.

I think Holly's idea is a good one......but we'll still have to figure

If you want peace with the Toatl Request thing, you sure have a funny way
of showing it.....because resorting to bitching on your part is being
very hypocritical.

And you have about 11 spelling and capitalization errors in what you

Look, I've worked with MTV, OK. They do NOT tabulate viewer requests. Those
Emails you see running at the bottom of the screen are pulled to FIT THE
ALREADY LAYED OUT AGENDA.

It's just like your stupid FM radio staions, they only play the fucking
request if your request IS ALREADY ON THEIR ROTATION. Those neat little
conversations you hear are pre-recorded during breaks and then played to fit
the rotation.

As stupid as it might sound, I didn't get to hear all of it. I wish I
had. I heard snippets of it and Kim sounded really intelligent; he
didn't sound like he was reading his information off cards or anything.
He talked lengthily about topics concerning the environment, such as
endangered species, and I was totally impressed with his efforts. Eddie
Vedder (known by me as the 'wise man of music') commented too, which is
always a treat. It's things like this which make me proud to like the
groups I do. They care about things that matter in life, and not just
minor things.

whatever.  a friend of mine call up muchmusic (yeah, it's not MTV but the same
idea) once to request a very old metallica video.  what did the ratings-
conscious operators at much say?  no, we can't play that one, but we will play
their new video, which happened to be the same video in the top 10 on the
weekly countdown and also on heavy rotation.  so they show people's e-mails on

for [name of video [and it had damn well better be Soundgarden if you're

Do not perpetuate it with endless discussion of which video we should
request based on what you think is more likely to be chosen. Do not

Just take the initiative, show some backbone, and do it.

This is sad. And you know what, Matt is absolutely right about everything he
just said.  I have been on the verge of unsubscribing several times myself,
but never did.  All this list is is just crap now.  It hasn't been nothing but
crap since the band broke up, it was still good for quite a while.  It's been
like this for the past few months though, and I too am sick of it.  It's at
the point where I post to the list just for the sake of hearing everyone's
reactions to what I have to say (I get a real kick out of it sometimes), and
there are just some complete jackasses (notice how I say some, not all) who
take everything so seriously or are so wrapped up with themselves that they
just start to flame away, case in point, the whole Metallica incident.  I hope
that some of these offenders will come to their senses so that they do not
drive more loyal members to leave due to frustration.

anybody know whether either of them are still together?  I have heard Hater
broke up and Ben quit WWC.  I have also heard that Kim is starting another
band.  If anybody knows any truth to any of these I would really appreciate

I don't know her exact age either, but I do know that she is older than Chris.

ALSO - A friend of mine living in LA just saw Chris and Susan in the
Metaphysics store she manages a week or so (maybe more maybe less) ago.
Hopefully he's down there working in his album. She rang up his purchase (upon
my asking what they bought my friend answered "Books") and got to talk to him
a little. She said Susan looks a lot older than Chris, that Chris looked
really skinny, and that he was very handsome.

Just thought that was interesting since Chris sightings are so rare...

Rebekah said she's 39 and that she thinks it is Susan.  Well, if it is, all
I can say is WOW!  I'd be very impressed to see someone who's about 15 get a
screenplay produced.  Did you see the cast list?  Tom Bosley, Farrah
Fawcett!  Nice to know that Susan's moved onto better company.

Anyway, I guess some people are just destined for the entertainment biz, one
way or another.  Anyway, if it is our Susan, I'm glad that she ended up
managing some great bands instead of writing little-known screenplays for
Aaron Spelling!

I think if Soundgarden had a video/live recording compilation like
Metallica did with Live Shit, it would be great. Only downside I see is
the cost, but oh well. Everyone knows there were recordings from the DotU

well now, i missed the whole metallica thing u guys were all up in arms with,
so i have no say in that. I havent been on the list all that long, so i have
no idea how the list was like durning the great SG years(sob). But, my .02 is
that there is a LOT of bitching, whining, and so on, but thats also how some
people DO react to some things! They take things WAY too seriously, and get
all pissy about them, and feel the need to flame and complain! U should all be
ashamed of yourselves! I would imagine teenagers, or children fighting like
this, but some of you people are almost twice my age, and i havent flamed yet!
I forget who said this, i think it was chris, but he said how soundgarden
listeners are much more intelligent from the norm(or something along the lines
of that), and im SURE as hell not seein that from some of you people! All i
can say is GROW UP!

Here is something that I posted on a Bulletin Board that I thought might be of
interest to some...

Re: Bootlegs.....One of the occasionally better (and boldest) bootleg labels,
KTS (responsible for the Crown Of Thorns and Blow Up The Outside boots)
actually maintains a web site. Well, they were shut down for a few years, but
that's a long story that I will not bore you with....anyway, they have
recently returned. Italy used to be the country of choice for bootleggers (Why
Not? and Octopus labels, etc.), but since their laws got a little more strict,
the KTS operation is now based out of Singapore. Anyway, you can go to

inventory. They even show you the cover art and songlists for their CDs
