Was anyone there? Does anyone know where I can get a copy, if it exists? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Jen ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 23 Jul 1998 13:48:31 EDT From: Sarah R Cornell Subject: DREAM BAND Here's what I think a dream band would be: 1. Chris Cornell and James Hetfield - sharing lead vocals (of course :-b ) 2. Kirk Hammett - lead guitar 3. Lars Ulrich - drums 4. Jason Newsted - bass So I guess if Chris joined Metallica that'd be the perfect band for me. Of course if Soundgarden got back together it'd be better. Don't mind me, I'm just fantasizing about a SG reunion. Well take care. Sarah SG still rules!! _____________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail. What Ulrich calls playing the drums just makes me crack up every time I hear it and I can kick Newsted's ass on bass. Hammett is only good for an occasional solo (hasn't had a good one since Justice) and Hetfield should choose between singing or playing rhythm because he sure as hell can't do both at the same time. The band would have been much better off with Mustaine and Burton, but they never got the chance to play with that line-up. I think they are good song writers, but as musicians? I'd rather listen to rap. This isn't an "I hate Metallica" post, I actually like them a bit. But to hold them in the light of being a "dream band" and mentioning them in the same breath as Chris Cornell is just down right blasphemy. Sorry for the non-Soundgarden post. How could anybody throw a golf ball at SG, couldn't have been a SG fan!. Give me an e-mail, can dub you a copy. I like Eleven, and think they have a nice eclectic sound. I like the fact, that they experiment with different sounds. It's mainly Chris' project, so I'd imagine that he'll probably be calling most of the shots, with Eleven giving their opinions on certain aspects. Alain Johannes=A0has also done some producing, so Chris should have another ear handy, on the productions. I also feel that when you play/record amongst friends, it makes for a much more relaxed and comfortable studio atmosphere. I'm not sure, but I think Eleven has their own recording studio in Los Angeles called 11A.D. Maybe they're recording the album there. I had hoped that he would work with Eleven again when I heard "Ave Maria", and "Sunshower," speaks for itself. I'm looking forward to hearing his solo effort. Chris has said in several past interviews, that he has so many songs written, but they didn't fit within the realm of SG. I'm glad he's finally getting a chance to express different aspects of his personality, because it seems like he has so much more to say - and I'll always be listening....my 0.02 P&L Anna ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 23 Jul 1998 16:09:03 -0500 From: Aladdin Hassanein Subject: CONVERT YOUR TAPEs TO CD's!! I traded with this one Soundgarden fan who is not on the SOMMS list named Devin Butterfield. He has the ability to take any tape and make it into cd and even improve the quality. It is amazing. He already made me 4 cd's from bootleg tapes that I had and they are amazing A&M studio quality!! So convert those Soundgarden tapes into cd's. He can even print picture images on the front of the cd! It's your choice on what music you buy, if you don't want your mom to know just hide the cd from her. What does she think that Soundgarden is? A satanic band or something? Maybe you could talk to her and explain some things about Soundgarden to her. I'm sorry but, I think your mom is a little too protective, bye. That's the second biggest loud of shit I've ever heard. Megadeth is plain laughable, Cliff I can understand, he was awesome, but Dave Mustaine!!!???? And they did get to play with that lineup before Kill Em All was released. >I think they are good song writers, but as musicians? Who gives a shit about 'musicianship?' it's the songs that matter. Agreed there, Chris joining Metallica is the biggest loud of shit I've ever heard, but giving the guys in the band a shitcanning for how they play their instruments is rubbish, it's irrelevant. >Waiting to be flamed by all the metal-head Metallica fans, Judging bye you love of Dave Mustaine I think we know who Mr Metal-Head is around here. Been a while since I posted :) Anyway, just a random thought, anyone hear some Soundgarden in that new Monster Magnet song????? Space-Dog I think? I can definitely hear Chris singing that song. Thats it :) BTW I dont think that Monster Magnet is Chris's dream band. hahahahahaha I think his dream band would be MY BAND. hahahaha All we need is a singer....also have any of you ever heard of Rammstein??? I think they are big in Germany or something, anyway they rock, you should pick up their new CD. Blah blah blah. See ya later everyone. Matt P.S.- Where did the humor go on this list??? Things are too damn boring. All the fun went out of this list since Jordan Snodgrass got driven out........ ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 24 Jul 1998 01:50:07 EDT From: Nick Boos Subject: SOMMSfest '98 SOMMIES- SOMMSfest in Seattle was a lot of fun!
