THe Soundgardne Bootleg DIscography doesn't have these listed. They are very expensive, too, for some reason. What are "cues"? Are these live performances with interviews in between, or are these studio performances with interviews in between? can anyone help? ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 14 Jul 1998 09:21:41 -0400 From: Kris Subject: PJ promo pic Matt doesn't have to audition for two reasons. #1 He kicks ass already #2 He played drums on the original demo tapes that they made way back when Mookie Blaylock (early Pearl Jam) were looking for a singer... We all know Matt kicks ass. Like you all said, I don't think Matt Would have to audition for the band. What if it was just for him to try it out and to see if he would like to join the band for good? To test out the crouds and see if they would accept him as PJ full time drummer, even thought we all would? To see if he liked touring with PJ? -- -AS mailto:asnod@home.com http://www.csusm.edu/public/guests/asnod/ ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 14 Jul 1998 10:24:56 EDT From: Shawnte Orion Subject: Phoenix Matt Jam show The Phoenix Pearl Jam show was so great! I dont think that I have ever seen any band playing any better. It was such a treat to see them at the top of their game. Matt was playing great. He was pounding the drums so hard, that when he broke his stick during Hail Hail, it flew about ten feet into the air. He really made songs like Even Flow and Tremor Christ sound like they always should have. Although, in fairness to Jack, I prefer the way that Irons assaults the drumkit after the slow break in Brain Of J and you cant help but notice how Pearl Jam has suspiciously lost In My Tree from the setlists. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 14 Jul 1998 09:29:45 -0500 From: tonerkin Subject: Re: Chris Cornell, the porn star!! I definitely believe Chris's solo album will not resemble Soundgarden. I actually hope it doesn't and look forward to hearing something from Chris other than what he gave us in Soundgarden...More creative and brilliant masterpieces to druel over...Who wouldn't want that? I expect the album to be out of the ordinary- Chris in a whole new, three-eyed world of musical magnificance. I expect to hear a lot of haunting acoustics like Seasons and Like Suicide, some softer songs like Sunshower, some croonish blues pieces like several of the songs from DOTU, and then small traces of the hard rock he is famous for. Kinda like Jerry Cantrell, I expect Chris to stray away from his old form, but still leave traces of the heavy metal blazeking he was with Soundgarden to prove that beyond a shadow of a doubt he can rock with the best of 'em, yet show that he has amazing musical capabilities himself and on his own. That's the whole point of a SOLO album, to show you are just as capable on your own as you were with a whole group of guys who just kicked ass altogether. Kendrick Kay wrote: > > Spin Session > US Westwood One 2 CD radio show w/cues, 96/32 > $60 low > > Anyone have any idea what these are? This was played on the radio (yet this place is trying to sell it for $60). It was an interview about their then new album (DOTU),among other things, and and they played some of the songs from it. The only one I can remember for sure is Never The Machine Forever and I'm fairly sure they played Pretty Noose and Rhinosaur;I can't recall the others. If I rember correctly, it lasted about and hour and a half. Most likely, you can find somebody who has this recorded who will gladly make you a copy-for much less than $60, maybe even for free. I would like to help you but I was having a hellish time picking up the radio station that night so I didn't even try to record it. I listened to the whole thing in a "bad sound quality bootleg" kind of way. The station totally faded out a couple of times-for a minute or so that seemed like an eternity. It was frustrating trying to listen to it through static. You should try to get it though. They all seemed to be in a good mood. It was comical in places. Amy ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 14 Jul 1998 17:06:04 -0500 From: Amy Subject: Something else The were interviewed by some of the people from Eleven. The girl from Eleven pointed out that there were eleven letters in Soundgarden, like it was some big connection or something and one of the guys from Soundgarden (I don't know which one because I wasn't familiar with their speaking voices then; I had no interview discs and had no way of hearing online sound clips of them talking) said "OK", in a tone that said "you freak".
