It's probably $25 because it could be the black box version. I happen to have both the cd and the box version of Sub Pop 200 but want to give away my cd version, cause I don't need it. It's a nice collection of songs they have on there. -Maria << Date: Sun, 12 Jul 1998 20:21:49 EDT From: Kristin Herrera Subject: Re: santa claus is here! $25 for Sub Pop 200? That's ludicrous. Just last week I was very lucky and bought it at a used cd store in excellent condition for a mere $7.99! Visit Sub Pop Records Online at http://www.subpop.com and you can order it at the old school Mega Mart for $10. >> ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 13 Jul 1998 02:11:46 -0500 From: Amy Subject: Re: Danial Lanois, Chris Cornell...don't expect an album 'til '99 Steven Russell Jr. wrote: Daniel Lanois has declined an offer to work with the former Soundgarden frontman on his solo debut. May he be covered with fluffy nougat and be forced to spend the rest of his days in a rat-infested sewer. If you're thinking of getting Sunshower from Cd Now, forget it. For a little while anyway. They're all gone. They have my money, but no Sunshower cds. But it will be put on back order for you. He never made a significant change just for argument's sake, what exactly do you think are chris cornell's roots? I would think they are pretty hard to pin down. moreover, I think you could successfully argue that chris' musical style has undergone a rather drastic evolution in the years since _screaming life_, and that he will continue to move away from that style in the future. his latest effort 'sunshower' is a nice song, sure, but is light-years away from something like 'beyond the wheel' or 'the day I tried to live', completely dissimilar to his early work. I don't hold any great hopes that his solo record will resemble anything soundgarden ever did. any thoughts, listers? justin ------------- q: is it easy kicking so much ass? a: yes, because there is so much ass to be kicked out there. -matt cameron, 1998. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 13 Jul 1998 04:19:35 PDT From: William Flanders Subject: Re: for the violence of a nation gone by... justin nichols: "I don't hold any great hopes that his solo record will resemble anything soundgarden ever did. any thoughts, listers?" I may be alone here, but not only do I think Chris' solo work won't resemble Soundgarden, I hope it doesn't. Maybe someday he'll return to that old hat, but for now I'd rather hear as much diversity as he has to offer musically. I'd rather hear the fluttergirls, angel on fires, and call me a dogs, or even ave marias than mailmen right now... I'd also like to see him become a career musician, like Eric Clapton and Ozzie Osbourne. Only time will tell whether his popularity will sustain enough for him to continue making music indefinately. Hell, whatever he does, he'll be making music. But somehow I doubt he'll be releasing albums if he loses his audience. -Bill ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 14 Jul 1998 00:00:55 EDT From: Shroom Girl Subject: Chris Cornell, the porn star!! Welcome to yet another installment of Soundgarden-Hootchies-Are-Us! In this week's issue: Chris Cornell's secret job... moonlighting as a porn star!!! Get the scoop here: http://www.adonisent.com/graphics_pages/hots2.html It's very hot, and an extreme bargain at only $49.95!! (I'd rather pay $50 for a Chris Cornell porn video than any old promo CD ;-) Hehehe!! Another interesting bit of news (new to me, anyway)... Soundgarden has it's own little page at antichrist.com!! Check it out: http://www.antichrist.com/soundgdn.htm Here's a sneak preview of what you'll find!! "Sound Garden speaks loudly against the religious control we are burdened with. They use the symbolic codes in many of their songs, from 'Black Hole Sun' (a song that makes a lot of sense right about now) to 'Jesus Christ Pose' (where no codes are needed)." Yes, it's all right there. THE TRUTH!! Soundgarden are all religious freaks who hide symbolic codes in their lyrics... that Chris Cornell pens during his secret job starring in XXX films!!!! Remember... you heard it here first! :) xxoo -- Shroomy "I'm auditioning hootchies for my next film... any takers?" ~ Chris Cornell, '96 Words not necessarily said in that exact order. <~~~ my disclaimer ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 13 Jul 1998 22:13:09 -0700 From: Andrew Snodgrass Subject: PJ Promo pic... I was reading an interview with Stone in the newspaper the other day and when I really looked at the Promo picture that accompanied the article who did I see? Matt of course. I just thought it was kind of odd to see a promo picture of a band with it's "sit-in-drummer" in the picture. Could this mean that Matt has or is going to join PJ for good? Is this tour just a long audition for Matt? I know of a few other bands that do have someone audition for the band by hitting the road with 'em, most recently the Misfits. Just wanted to see what people thought. -- -AS mailto:asnod@home.com http://www.csusm.edu/public/guests/asnod/ ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 14 Jul 1998 01:30:19 EDT From: Mike Liacone Subject: Re: PJ Promo pic... I really doubt Matt would have to audition in any way. Pearl Jam knows what he can do and I think is pretty much a shoe in if he wants the job. ------------------------------ End of SOMMS Digest - 13 Jul 1998 to 14 Jul 1998 ************************************************
