That's the best moment in the film (and the film is good). I've got an idea of something we could do with a gun. Oops, sorry SP fans. Jesus, I paid $10 for mine. God, 50 bucks? Sounds like someone got taken for a ride. Lance>> I dont think I got taken for a ride buying Foreshocks for 50 bucks....the first time I bought it, I paid 68 bucks for it. I have seen it at some online ordering sites for 75 bucks....I think you (Lance) got lucky finding it for only 10. I wish I would have found it for only 10 bucks.... Then Mellon Collie came out, and things started to change. Maybe it was because I started seriously digging SG in 95, I dunno. I think it was mostly because the Pumpkins sold out. They started dressing all freaky and acting really odd onstage. Billy shaved his head, which sucked, and he lost his appeal as a rock singer. He lost that cool growl somewhere in the mix and came out singing like Celine Dion with a nasal twinge. It got to the point where I couldn't stand to listen to them, look at them, or even think about them. But with Soundgarden ruling my world, it never really mattered to me. Until I notice that everyone grouped SG and SP together. ("Arena rock god bands like Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, and the Smashing Pumpkins...") Ah, first of all, the Pumpkins could never come close to being as cool as those two bands, and they sound nothing alike. I just dont get the way the media can twist such simple things into something with an entirely different meaning. Billy Corgan turned into a whining, self centered, melodramatic bitch. He ruined himself, and his band. Chris (and Matt and Ben and Kim) stayed with his roots. He never made a significant change in his appearance or lyrics, etc to get attention from the public. He never sold out, none of them did. In the long run, SG and SP are two bands that are complete and total opposites. Unfortunately, SP's still around. :) I agree with the gun theory. We may as well "add them on to the hot rod death toll". Sorry, Pumpkins fans! pUnKy ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ End of SOMMS Digest - 9 Jul 1998 to 10 Jul 1998 ***********************************************
