So enjoy. - Maria ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 2 Jul 1998 11:27:27 EDT From: niki freer Subject: Wellwater Conspiracy Tablature hey guys! does anyone have any tab they've managed to figure out for WWC? I just keep listening to this album and dying to play it, but don't have the time to sit and figure it out really...so if any of you kind sommsters have figured any out, i'd love it if you'd send it to me! :-) Anyways, there's this incredible drum head up for bid at ebay... autoed by all of them (ben bassist era) and as proof of validity, there's a pic of Cornell with his long locks holding the damn thing. :-) pretty cool. Any more PJ news? i am loving hearing about these concerts! about matt! and Lance's mention of "Footsteps" being played is one of the coolest things to have happened on here in a while! thanks for keeping us happy mattster!!! have a good one, mind riot _____________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail. Glad to be of service!! -Nick ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 1 Jul 1998 17:30:48 -0230 From: Marc Hollett Subject: Need to be informed.... Hello fellow sommsters. I am fairly new to the list, so i probably missed, if there were any, posts about the unofficial site. Just wondering what's the latest news on it. I know it's still down, just need to know how it's progressing. BTW If anyone happens to like the red hot chili peppers i have a bootleg i would be willing to tape and trade for a taped copy of declaration of conformity by wellwater conspiracy. please email me privately. -- Marc soundgarden@tophosting.com http://members.xoom.com/marc/ "How would I know that this could be my fate?" ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 2 Jul 1998 16:15:56 -0400 From: Seth Perlman Subject: Re: Need to be informed.... >Hello fellow sommsters. I know it's still down, just >need to know how it's progressing. The story with the unofficial SG site is pretty simple: I "closed" it sometime in February, hoping to have it done in a couple of weeks; chose a new deadline of March 8 to coincide with the anniversary of Superunknown's release; chose a new deadline of April Fools' Day; chose a new deadline of sometime in May; and gave up choosing deadlines. I've done essentially nothing with the site since April, when a large chunk of my work was wiped out by disk problems at sgi.net. It will certainly get done eventually, but I won't promise when. For now my motivations lie in other places. (Besides, when it's "done" there won't be a single page of new content on the site - it'll just look different. I will not be following the post-SG careers of Matt, Kim, Ben and Chris on the Web; other people will pick up those projects if there's interest, as they did for Truly, for example.) -seth ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 2 Jul 1998 16:20:03 EDT From: Matt Hammons Subject: SOUNDGARDENCRAFT Okay, all you non-computer nerds don't have to read this, but for all of you "Warcraft 2" players/SOMMsters, I have designed a map (.pud) that is basically four islands joined close together to make that Soundgarden logo we all know and love. If you're interested I e-mail me privately and I'll send it your way. I myself do occaisionally look into major influences on certain bands but its not really necessary, i mean i love music and if they influenced a band i like then they have to be good right? well that wasnt true with the beatles, like many of you on this list i hate them, i find their music boring, and redundant...but that is my opinion, obviously theyre loved by alot of people and i am not one of them....GwYn wanted to know what Helter Skelter was and you dont have to get mad at her for asking a question i mean we arent born with Beatles knowledge now are we? and if she doesnt want to look into them thats fine..it really doesnt mean shes ignorant she just doesnt care about who influenced Soundgarden , she just wants to listen to them and THEIR music... i myself am a youngin of 18 and the only reason i knew what Helter Skelter was is because of Charles Manson and his American Justice spot on A&E... im just trying to explain that it isnt ignorant, and if you care to disagre ill explain whats REALLY ignorant to ya!\ listen to the banned, fight music censorship. where's the love? stop the violence. Never mind, those of you who don't like them won't change your mind (you were probably pre-dispose to hating them because they are "your parents' music." ) This is evidenced by the use of very contemptuous words, "hate", "redundant" etc. So I will save my breath (fingers) for the more open-minded. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 2 Jul 1998 23:47:33 EDT From: Tammy Read Subject: Re: My last post on the Beatles. Here's an idea...listen to what YOU like, not what everyone else likes. If you like the Beatles, great. If you don't like the Beatles, swell. Who the fuck really cares? ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 2 Jul 1998 21:27:40 PDT From: Holly Winkler Subject: Re: My last post on the Beatles. you know what, besides the fact that I am so sick of this stupid petty little argument cluttering up my box?? some of us grew up a long time ago and no longer hate something just because our parents like it. I listen to a lot of the same things my dad listens to, and my mom has even started listening to my kind of music. just because it is "our parents music" doesn't mean shit, and makes for a really immature reason to bitch at someone that just asked a simple question in the first place! ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 2 Jul 1998 21:28:35 PDT From: Holly Winkler Subject: Re: My last post on the Beatles. and by the way, I HATE the beatles! ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ End of SOMMS Digest - 2 Jul 1998 to 3 Jul 1998 **********************************************
