BTW, I'm sure somebody has seen Peter cornell live. I mean , at least you. So, I think I wont have a chance to see him soon as He's probably not going on a World tour next week... I'm just curious about what is his music/band like (apart from outstanding...). I mean : is it closer to Will Smith, Jeff Buckley or Sepultura ? PIF -ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTSS BLOOODYY ROOOOOOOOOOT (Beer) PS : Hey what you can't take away from these guys is the way they shatter the "TV" image of brazil (chicks barely covered by molecular-Bi/monoKinis and similing guys playing football on the beach...) PPS : Ok I concede maybe the strong point of their music is not exactlty nuance. Or is it ?? :) ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 17 Jun 1998 05:00:13 PDT From: The Koggle Subject: Re: SG web ring? >anyways...is the SG web Ring still up and running? yes it is >I'd like to get it into the ring if it's still around... the address? http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/Alley/6953/ring.html Kogg ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 17 Jun 1998 08:56:12 +0000 From: "Barbara L. Strong" Subject: Re: CC solo project/Overfloater That is not what I said - there were a couple of "or"s in there separating the feelings that the song invokes for me, which is different at different times in my life. A song never means just one thing to me. And I think that we are defining the word "guilt" on two different levels. I was thinking more along the lines of doing something really selfish and indulgent or maybe something self-destructive that you know is wrong (not illegal, just not smart or good for you) but you can't help yourself and then you feel guilty about doing it. I was not even in the realm of rape or murder. But, on the other hand, to take what I said the way you did - ever feel guilty about a one night stand??? Barb > That implies you think/feel sex is something really decadent you feel > guilty about???? Strange. I would feel guilty for other things, like > murdering, raping children, or listening to Twisted Sisters or Michael > Bolton... ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 17 Jun 1998 13:59:39 EDT From: Kelly Hendricks Subject: Maybe a stupid question... Alright, my brain is cramped with thought. Someone mentioned Peter Cornell's band, Chris sightings, and how Ben was at the show held at the OK Hotel but there was no Chris. For the first time I wondered if Chris is close to all his brothers and sisters. To tell you the truth, I'm not sure how many there are but I've read it somewhere many of times; I just don't want to put down a number that sounds right and embarrass myself. Does anyone know of any pictures of the siblings together or anything like that?? Please don't think I'm trying to pry into the man's private life (far from it) or anything along those lines, I was just curious... Take care and be sweet!!! Supossedly this guy is touring with Scott Weiland or something...For One thing I hope his new record doesn't sound like Scott Weiland's, because I heard it at a friends house and didn't think it was that great... Does anybody know why Ben Duct tapes his wallets?!? Gary " not seeing the point of that " Rees ALso i little tidbit of information: Did you know that Big Kahuna Burgers, a fake restaurant created by Quentin Tarnatino, is in the following movies? Resivoir Dogs, True Romance, Pulp Fiction, and From Dusk till Dawn. Just look and you'll find other weird connections with these movies... ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 17 Jun 1998 15:06:17 EDT From: Mike Smith Subject: drawing flies, the movie... anyone familiar with the movies clerks, mallrats, or chasing amy?? well while visiting the official web page of those dudes, i found this....... You know and love him from 'Clerks' and 'Mallrats', as well as the two music videos, but the world has yet to see him in 'Drawing Flies' (one of the low budget flicks we produced) in which he plays Canadian transplant Az. Funny stuff. this was talking about "jason mewes" thats all... mike "trying though i know its wrong" ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 17 Jun 1998 16:12:11 -0400 From: Anna Mincieli Subject: answer to (not so dumb) question I hope I'm not getting too personal with this. It has probably already been written in some article. There are 6 siblings in the Cornell family. Chris often joked about being Bobby from the Brady Bunch. From oldest to youngest: Patrick,Peter,Suzy,Chris,Katy and Maggie. Yea..I guess Chris would be Bobby from the Brady's,hehehe!!! I have various photos of the siblings, but not a complete photo of the whole family. Now, I have a question?? The last I heard, Peter was fronting a band called "Inflatable Soule". Is that still the name of his current band. If not, could somebody please let me know what the new name is?? Thanx!!! Someone just posted that Chris was the middle child....as in the Bobby Brady of the Cornell Dynasty...well, I dont think so. In SPIN of July 96..(SOUNDGARDEN on the cover)it says on page 48... "Cornell grew up as the youngest of six children in a lower-middle-class Catholic family in Seattle. He did his share of hell-raising as a ateen, and was kicked out of both seven and eight grade (twice); after his parents divorced, he left school for good at 14 and help support his mom by working as a cook at a seafood restaurant. "I still regret dropping out, especially being a guy who writes words for a living. I pretty much have a seventh grade Catholic school education; it would have been helpful if I had continued." Point is people..that I really don't think that Chris is the Bobby Brady of the Cornell family... just my $0.02....Rachel* ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 17 Jun 1998 22:02:53 EDT From: Shawnte Orion Subject: Re: BIG KAHUNA BURGERS( various cornell Stuff) In a message dated 6/17/98 12:57:49 PM US Mountain Standard Time, GARYREES@worldnet.att.net writes: << Ok, one reason that Cornell is not in the studio yet is because he's trying to make a deal with that guy( sorry I don't know his name, I forgot) who produced Scott Weiland's record. I love the song, but this whole Overfloater/Erotica/Sex/Intelligence thing is getting kinda old.
