It is rumored that CC may show up at several PJ shows, trying out some of his new material. People have been salivating over the probability of a bonus Temple Of The Dog reunion (with Matt already behind the drumkit), if Chris actually does turn up. In addition to CC getting together his band for the recording sessions, he was suuposedly waiting for Daniel Lanois to be available to produce the album (he was touring with Scott Wiland)....now that Weiland's tour is prematurely finished (hehe), I wonder if that will push the October target date up, at all???? just hoping, shawnte ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 12 Jun 1998 11:41:12 -0230 From: Marc Hollett Subject: New to the list Ok I'm new to the list. Just wondering how the new layout is going Seth. -- Marc soundgarden@tophosting.com http://members.xoom.com/marc/ "How would I know that this could be my fate?" ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 13 Jun 1998 12:45:28 EDT From: Shawnte Orion Subject: SOMMS-less people need not give up hope Hey, everyone I remember when SOMMS/bmf was first released, it lasted on the shelves for almost a whole year at the stores around here...I figured everyone who wanted it, must already have it. Now, that I have joined this list, I have discovered that this is not true. Well, I just wanted to let you know that you dont necessarily have to spend $80, or wait for the death of a fellow sommster, to get one. No, I am not giving mine away, but around where I live, the local chain of used record stores is very popular and people trade in all kinds of stuff (even bootlegs...as I sometimes do). Anyway, every few months a SOMMS disc always shows up (and priced at only about $10). So keep searching with your good eye closed. later, shawnte ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 13 Jun 1998 15:28:13 EDT From: Igor Nepomnyashchiy Subject: Small thought on SOMMS I just wanted to comment on all the things people say about not being able to find it... don't worry about it. Try to use USENET and pay attention to people on the list. I did and someone found a message on Usenet and forwarded it to the list. I replied and got my copy of SOMMS for only $20, not the crazy $60 amounts some people have payed. And try your local record stores. "The thought that somebody might get it wrong doesn't bother me at all", he says."I come from a background of being a fan of music, where the idea is more or less escapism. and whatever facilitates and wherever you escape to is your business. That's the only way you can really own the cds you buy. If you spend money on something that encourages you to come up with your own meaning..visually, mentally, emotionally- then it's all worth the money. And for us as a band, it's well worth the effort of recording it in the first place." i think dz is what makes soundgarden such a great band..as stated in da cd liner - it is da 'thinking-headbanger's hard rock band'!! - killyrbf http://members.tripod.com/~KillYrBF _____________________________________________ Get your free personalized email address at http://www.MyOwnEmail.com ------------------------------ End of SOMMS Digest - 13 Jun 1998 to 14 Jun 1998 ************************************************
