Okay, in reading this letter, I completely agree....Right on to ya chica! But there was something that kinda made me frown...Now I know that we've had this discussion before but...... In a message dated 98-06-04 00:53:43 EDT, you write: << a REAL fan, >> I know I don't own the list or anything, but what is this REAL fan biznez...it doesn't matter who's more devoted to SG. There's no telling who's more REAL than who, and having the *halo* SOMMS *halo* CD does not make you more REAL than someone else. Sorry these things just get to me. We were raised in a capitalist society (well not all of us) We're greedy. What if some REAL DIE HARD fan has an extra copy of SOMMS, but yet someone offers them a copy of some Chris Cornell demos or Fresh Deadly Rarities...should they put their "hard-corism" on the line and put you before them? Yeah it's all nice and gum droppily sweet to think of things like that, and maybe we could all live in a perfect society, but think about it......If someone offered you FDR for SOMMS, would you be as nice....something to think about eh? Whatever...my first real post in a long time...and all I do is complain! Ack!!! Well peeps, M'out! So good to be back again!!!!!! Much Luvinz!!! Michelle....please EMAIL me, as soon as possible....I don't know when I'll be able to get back to you tho....but do it please!!!!! *sweat* da queen of da hedgehogz da hedgehogz hootchie princess/queen (much luv maria) DeZHy "if this isn't makin sense, it doesn't make it lies." It appears that some people are pissed off at me for 'supposedly' trying to make a profit on this double-cd. And so it seems that I didn't make myself clear last time. All I wanted to do was trade it for something I don't have. What's wrong with that? The only way I can get cool SG things I don't have here in Australia is by either trading with other people or paying phenomenal prices (plus postage) to dealers overseas. Anyway, no-one has offered me anything for it, so of course, I am offering it to the list at the equivalent price I paid - US$60 (plus postage). If anyone wants it at that price, mail me, and I'll put you into a draw. I'll accept entries until 9pm on Friday (***in Australian time, so you US sommsters need to work out the translation). I'll let the winner know on Friday night, and we can arrange postage etc. Now I realise this price seems high, but heh, that's what you get for living in Australia. And that's exactly the reason why i didn't state it in my last post that I was offering it to the list, because I think it is damn expensive... Anyway, if no-one wants it, i'll put it on EBAY at US$60, and the rest of the world can have a go. Then if still no-one wants it, well, it'll make a great christmas present. Somms i really hard to come by and alot of people (such as myself) would really like to have it, some people sold it to the first person to answer their letter, others did a draw, and thats what they should do, sell it for the price they got it for to a REAL fan, this is what capitalism does to people, makes everyone greedy and selfish....people need some self disipline...i suggest taking up budhism... and maybe we could get rid of this stupid little "democracy" and all this greed..... im sure soundgarden would appreciate such a rare item going to a real fan too... they probably wouldint appreciate your greed either... just thinkin, Jill >> ok thats it. that was the final "bleeding heart" straw...... stop raggin' on the dude. it was his score, i think it was nice of him in the first place to give somms a crack at it. had it been me who found it, id be the proud owner of 2 somms sets. this preasure to get that thing in sommLESS hands in the name of completeness of the somms circle of life is b.s "hey croonkey, i know why dont you GIVE that somms cd away, yeah, you know the one that retails for up to 65 bucks. because hey, somewhere on earth there is a poor little sommster who hasnt completed his/her collection." so in closing.....if you have opinions about (said sommsters) choices, email him privatley, cause i dont wanna' hear you shit. mike "trying though i know its wrong" ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 4 Jun 1998 12:28:30 EDT From: Nadezhda Ball Subject: Re: you love him, you loathe him... If yer gonna mention something having to definately to do with our favorite drummer...PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, let us know how he is damnit. I heard the stoopid album sucked anyway. I heard the drumming on a coupla songs sounded good tho....and also....I checked the credits on the album (someone returned it on the first day it came out at my job.....tee hee) and so Matt only does his lil drummer boy thing once? Wasn't he supposed to have more? I'm confused....fill me in people! damnit! da queen of da hedgehogz DeZHy "if this isn't makin sense, it doesn't make it lies." Soundgarden in the grocery store...Soundgarden on TV sportscasts... Here's an excerpt from Kerrang! 6-27-92, an article in which Matt, Ben, and roadie Randy review the lastest singles: Weird Al Yankovic- "Smells Like Nirvana" Matt: The video is God, but I don't think twice about the record. You listen to it once and laugh and that's about it. But I guess you know you've made it when Weird Al does a parody of one of your songs. Ben: It's the same when strippers strip to your song. I like the way Al does the solo- he's guitargling. ______________ ...which got me thinking... have any of you ever seen (or performed) a strip tease to a SG song? I would prefer that people posted mes sages concerning this subject to the list as well. Some of the reason why I find it interesting is that I never experimented with that stuff myself so it's kind of a window into someone elses experience, which is very cool I think.
