We have like 500 CD's, and when I'm ready to go for a drive I'll stand there in front of the rack and stare, but nothing grabs me. So I go over to my Soundgarden stash and grab a hand full. I never get tired of it (of course I have an awful lot, so its not like I have to listen to the same thing over and over). And the only stuff I want that I don't have is more SG. I know it probably sounds really lame to some of you, but its the truth. To Gwyn, its weird, some of us are just totally obsessed, and others much less so. But after you've been here a while you'll see that we are truly devoted. I've never seen anything like it with any other band. Soundgarden fans are a special breed. Then kathleen wrote: > and i was wandering: do yalls >sometimes with sg you have SONG moods?? YES! And I'm the same way - I won't be able to go to sleep until I listen to it! According to a source close to the singer, Cornell is currently putting together a band and wrapping up the principal songwriting for the album, and plans to start session work at the end of June. Cornell is also in discussions with ace producer Daniel Lanois, who received a Grammy last year for his production work on Bob Dylan's "Time Out of Mind," to man the boards after Lanois completes his tour with Scott Weiland. It's great to finally see SOMETHING about it! http://www.mtv.com/mtv/news/headlines/980519/story8.html Kathie ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 21 May 1998 02:25:39 EDT From: SokJunky55 Subject: and im lost... behind... heys. two questions bout the b-sides stuff: 1, does anyone knows for shure if its comingout around Christmas?? 2, is it supposed to be a double disc?? yahs. chat yall up later. adios and keep on truckin!! oh yeahs!! im in zero chance mood too!! rite on gwyn!! x )~ i was in a t&t mood bout urr... two months ago... man... kik ass peace, love, hope, faith, soup and s o u n d g a r d e n always groovy, kathleen : )) ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 21 May 1998 02:58:39 EDT From: Gardner167 Subject: sommfest? hey, what ever happen to discussion of this? i liked geoffs idea of atlanta. mike. Hey everyone! :) I was randomly surfing the net and i found this cool site called the Internet Movie Database and for fun (hehe yeah i'm a tad bored okay?) i searched out a couple different names and found the straaaaaanggest things! For Susan Silver there was the obvious; 'interviewee on Hype!'.. but in her Writer Filmography, there's a movie The Girl Who Came Gift-Wrapped (1974) that SHE aparently wrote!! this is news to me! (well not like it's anything that you'd hear about every day, but i still think it's pretty interesting..) The plot is described briefly as "A small-town beauty queen is hired, as a joke, as a "birthday present" for a magazine publisher." Has anyone seen it?? It lists Chris as her spouse and his role in Singles too, of course. I was sure Matt was in Attack of the Killer Tomatoes.. or something like that.. but on the pages for the tv show and the movie (and about 3 follow up movies) there was no listing of him (as 'Matt Cameron' anyway).. but uhh something really not important and stupid: George Clooney plays a person called Matt Stevens in 'Return of the Killer Tomatoes' heheh.. anyway the URL for the site's A-Z index is http://us.imdb.com/a2z ..go waste some time for me :) Kogg ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 21 May 1998 16:16:46 -0500 From: Aladdin Hassanein Subject: NEWS ABOUT CHRIS!! After playing FOBD, a dj from Q101, a radio station in Chicago, talked a little about what SG members are doing now. He said that Chris is recording in the studio right now and his album should comeout in October of this year. The dj said, "He (Chris) must be getting a lot of work done." The dj also said that Daniel Lanois will probably produce Chris's album. Lanois helped mix Scott Weiland's solo album (which SUCKED as a whole). The dj mentioned Matt with Pearl Jam saying that Matt is, "Just touring with Pearl Jam for now." He did not mention Kim or Ben. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 21 May 1998 17:43:43 EDT From: BDMOTRFING Subject: Matt permanenlty with PJ?? I was just thinking what would happen if Jack Irons illness should prevent him from continuing to work with Pearl Jam again, would Matt join the band permanently after having toured with them this summer. While Matt does seem to enjoy playing here and there, Hater, Smashing Pumpkins, Prodigy etc. would he, if asked, join the band? I don't know who else they would be looking for to replace Jack if he couldn't continue. Of course we don't know the specifics of his medical problem and this could just be stupid speculation, I was just bored and I thought I would ask. I was just wondering what the rest of you thought about this. ^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* IF THIS ISN'T MAKING SENSE IT DOESN'T MAKE IT LIES ^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 21 May 1998 18:05:02 EDT From: Moonsta693 Subject: Re: Chris's new album Well, the guy's from Monster Magnet had an interview on a radio station I listen to, and they said that Chris hasn't even stepped foot in a recording studio, and just seems to be taking his jolly ol' time sifting through the songs he think should be on the album, so maybe that October date might not be the right date.... Leco" Subject: Re: NEWS ABOUT CHRIS!! It seems that no two of the recent posts about Chris, the studio and his release date are the same. So who knows what's going on. I've never heard a DJ that sounded like s/he knew what they were talking about. And on the rare occaision that I've heard a DJ talk about SG I either already knew the facts (from this list!) or they were way off. So I'd have to venture to say that most dj's don't know more than us and the rare few are talking out of their asses! Just my opinion. ~Michelle >It makes you wonder where DJs get their great information from.. like.. what >makes them so knowledgeable about bands all the time? even as really >interested (i won't say hard-core!) fans, they still know more than we do.. >how is this so? do they make stuff up? is there a secret underground >information book for DJs? > >hmmmmm.... > ------------------------------ End of SOMMS Digest - 21 May 1998 to 22 May 1998 ************************************************
