It's two different > places BIMH was shot in Death Valley. I don't know where JCP was shot. When Wayne and Garth go to GasWorks, I could barely hear Loud Love in the background. Has anyone (or everyone) else heard this? CC twice in the same movie, that's pretty cool. (Internet Web site of a shop perhaps?) Thanks in advance. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 13 May 1998 07:34:12 -0700 From: gene Subject: Re: deserts I live near Palm Springs and there are "wind farms" (giant electricity generating windmills like those in the vid) all over. It looks to me like JCP was filmed in this area. The scenes where the guys are walking and stuff through a canyon and around some hills looks kinda like the same area also. Although it reminds me of the Morongo Valley and specifically Big Morongo Canyon, a nature preserve in the vicinity. So, I would say it was filmed in the Colorado Desert in Southern California in the Whitewater area near Interstate 10 and State Highway 62 and possibly the Morongo Valley. -- gene ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 13 May 1998 08:20:48 -0700 From: Mark Miller Subject: Soundgarden Sales #'s Does anyone know the # of record sales SG has for each of the albums in the US and worldwide? Does anyone know if there is a website where you can search record sales for bands? I am on the digest so please cc me if you have any information. I thought the same thing the first time I saw JCP. Then after watching it a few more times and paying close attention to the landmarks & scenery.... that I felt pretty possitive that it was Big Morongo Canyon in Morongo Valley. My husband and I tried to find the *exact* spot once...but we didn't have the video with us of course, and the landmarks change alot with heavy rains. So we could not actually confirm it possitivly....but I believe we were pretty damn close though! It's said that Chris Cornell's CD will be coming out early fall this year, and he will be going on tour. With whom, I don't know, but if Scott Weiland can do it, why not Chris? OKay for KIm you could say " he was a excellent lead guitarist for the band, Learning the guitar at age 8 by his mom, he played most of Soundgardens earlier stuff just by himself. He is known for his speed, mega fast trills, and odd licks, according to most guitar magazines out there. He was kinda known as the " beer guy " member , becasue, according to some sources, likes to eat and drink beer a lot and was shown throughout the 1994 MTV music awards holding a can of beer." How about that? and for Ben you could say " Ben joined the band in 1990 after Soundgarden fired former member, Jason Everman, on bass. The fact is that he Auditioned at the same time Everman did except he wasn't very good at the songs because he didn't know them. He was a very good bassist and kept the band with a strong rhythm section. He was known by fans as the " angry " or " Pissed off " one, where he would constantly jump around and give odd gestures and looks of pissed offness. Before the band broke up he started getting a little more " pissed off " when he began spitting and flipping people off, but don't take this as a resentment towards fans, because I think the way he got into the music was getting the fans riled up and himself acting all angry." Howz that maybe later i'll write something for ya about MATT... The Greasy Reesy ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 14 May 1998 08:11:15 +1000 From: Koggle Subject: Toronto Sommsfest Hey Listers :) I've had a couple responses about this.. let me clear something up.. people seem to be taking these SOMMSfest things uh.. the wrong way or something.. or maybe they're not reading properly.. Thanks to alot of tips from people on the list, i managed to get tickets to the Pearl Jam show at Molson park in Barrie, Ontario.. and since i knew of a couple people who were going to the show already on the list, why not ask the whole list and see if anyone else was planning to go?.. Let me say that i wouldn't be having a meeting if there was no Pearl Jam concert or something similar.. it might sound weird, but i feel like it's Soundgarden-related and there SHOULD be other sommsters there.. i also don't think that me saying anything about a sommsfest there would cause any non-toronto people to go nuts trying to get tickets to it.. like.. it won't be that big of a deal.. it's just meeting other sommsters (ones that live in the area or are going to the show).. saying hello.. talking for awhile.. seeing the show together.. it'll be just like going with friends, you know? i have no hope of meeting *anyone* out of *any* band! i know that.. i don't even *want* to meet them.. i'm going already, so i'd like to meet any other sommsters that are there.. I dunno, i hope that has cleared some things up for some of you.. Once again, Molson park, Barrie, Pearl jam show sommsters (how specific is that! heheh) contact me (privately) and i'll get back to you all with some details about it.. I was able to find a map of Molson park, its at (http://www.molson.com/molsonpark/map.html) Maybe we could find a place to meet before the show. Hey there, I remember a week ago there was talk about a Sunshower single/promo...now what h appened to that? Dave ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 13 May 1998 22:43:29 -0500 From: Ugly Truth Subject: TORONTO. IGNORE IF YOU'RE NOT GOING REALLY sorry to post this to the list, but... Alright...someone brought up the question of a meeting place...I haven't been to molson park for a while, but I'd say that the best place to meet is on the bleachers to the left(if you're coming into the park) of the second stage. It's kinda in the middle of the main and sub-stages, and relatively easy to spot... I tried taking a look at the map but I can't get my bearings. . .I'll get back to you on this but i think they're located at # 8...makes sense... If there's anyone else in Toronto that knows molson park(sorry, any beer company doesn't deseserve capatalization in my eyes ;o), can they suggest a better place or is that fine? -Ugly Truth ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 13 May 1998 23:53:15 EDT From: Strgazer22 Subject: #SOMMS on undernet I heard that some of you ppl are wanting to get the #somms channel started again.
