I've been wanting to start a thread about covers, but never knew how to start. Usually I'm not impressed when bands cover songs, but with SG it was different. When they covered a song they completely made it their own, really *interpreted* it in their own way, and even when I wasn't crazy about the song I always admired the way they did it. In fact, when they've covered songs I wasn't familiar with I thought they had written them! I like their version of Waiting for the Sun, too, but I was totally blown away by the way Chris sang Helter Skelter in Chicago (Nov. '96). When the Beatles did this song the theory was that it was about a roller coaster. That's sure not what it sounded like when Soundgarden did it;) Chris gave a whole new meaning to "coming down fast but don't let me break you". Hmmmm....
