The Rolling Stone Network cites a source close to the band as saying that Irons is simply fed up with touring after the band's recent brief tour of Australia and New Zealand. Pearl Jam will embark on a two-month U.S. tour in June, and Cameron will play his first dates with the band at the Tibetan Freedom Concerts in ********WASHTINGTON, DC.********* Jamie (SOMMs Mom) PLEASE LET ME GET TICKETS...... I really liked that plan, we could have a cool logo on the front, and something like Koggle's index on the back with all our names. We could wear them when we travel on the off chance that any of us kindred spirits bump into each other. Or even to the next leg of the PJ tour to show support for Matt. Did I mention I like this idea? --Matt ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 20 Apr 1998 13:35:54 EDT From: Freedotcom Subject: Re: SOMMS t-shirt In a message dated 98-04-20 11:21:23 EDT, you write: << Was there still an idea in the works for a SOMMS t-shirt. As a musician, I am sure that he misses some of the aspects of a major tour. Since it's his first major tour in a while, he is probably very enthusiastic, especially since he gets to play with his buddies in Pearl Jam. As a matter of fact, I hope he permenantly takes Jack Iron's place as the full time Pearl Jam drummer. He has a lot of ties with that band and I think that Pearl Jam is the best place for Matt Cameron to be (not including Soundgarden offcourse). ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 20 Apr 1998 16:55:01 -0400 From: El Conspiraco Subject: Re: SOMMS t-shirt [] I think a SOMMS shirt would be great...finally a way to stick up to those fucking people who hate Soundgarden who have no idea who they are. First of all...someone should take the initiative to say "Yes, I'll do it". That person should already know how to make a shirt, but also how to make a cool, nifty logo. I'm sure that if there is some graphic artist here who knows Photoshop, they can send it to that person and imprint it on. Second of all, we should all rally together in a chat room or somewhere to "converse" on costs and small details. I say ICQ if anyone else wants to talk about it (My # is 6099664). Sounds good SOMMSters? We'll all have to agree on a logo and what's gonna be on the back. I like the idea of having all our names on the back of it....sounds cool..but a bit lame. Dave ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 20 Apr 1998 17:27:50 -0400 From: Seth Perlman Subject: Re: SOMMS t-shirt Just some advice for anyone considering getting into a shirt-designing, money-collecting, worldwide-mailing committee: there have already been two attempts to design and distribute SOMMS shirts. The first time around went horribly, as the person collecting the money did just that and split without sending out all the shirts. The shirts also turned out pretty bad. The second attempt went far more smoothly, as Dena took over and had beautiful shirts and hats produced for us (not to mention delivered right away). I believe she has wisely vowed never to get involved again, but anyone who tries it this time should be committed to doing it all the way. Those of you who are planning to buy shirts should pay by check - if your shirt doesn't arrive you can stop payment on the check. We displayed a bunch of possible designs submitted by list members on a Web page and had an online voting mechanism to select the final design. Pretty straightforward. I should have been more clear: there are no more original SOMMS shirts. If you want a shirt, contact the people who have been discussing getting together to design a new one. -seth ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 20 Apr 1998 17:06:59 -0500 From: Kathie and David Subject: CC Newsgroup is on the Air Just wanted everyone to know that the Chris Cornell newsgroup is up and running. So anyone interested, go to alt.fan.chris-cornell. I think it would be great if interested people would post how they'd like to see the newsgroup go, and what kinds of things they'd like to see discussed, just so we can get it going. It was pretty exciting to see it pop up in "New Groups" (I'm a total novice at all this, so I guess I'm easily thrilled).
