I have to agree with this one. Sure, I love the music but some people here seems to take SG too seriously. I'm willing to bet that the guys in the band would be kinda concerned if they read what has been posted lately. When i learned that the band had split up my reaction was "That suck!", but that was it. No Post Traumatic Stress Disorder or anything just a simple statement and then on with life. After all - it's just music! (Maybe the best music but nontheless just music.) So I have to agree with Mark. The things being posted lately seems kinda.. sick. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 26 Mar 1998 23:15:55 +1000 From: Chicken Wire Subject: Re: Is Kim Thayil God? Well, the answer tot his question my friends is most definately yes. Kim Thayil is god. Who's up for a crusade? WE can all grow beards a thousand years wide, and go to Seattle and camp outside Kim's house with a guitar and enough Budweiser to last until the cows come home, or should i say snakes? Mike the (1000 miles of) chicken wire PS Tim Smallman AKA "Larry on a leaf" AKA "Boot Camp....nice place" AKA "Fish Head" AKA "Bob the Fish" is the greatest guitarist ever, besides GOD (Kim) ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 26 Mar 1998 11:00:04 EST From: O6z6z6y Subject: Re: shit In a message dated 98-03-26 02:41:01 EST, you write: << After all - it's just music! >> To some music is life, religion and law. It is something some of us believe in and something that is with us through some tough shit, some happy shit and all points in between. To some of us it even goes beyond all this to something damn close to spiritual that can't be so easily defined. When our one main focus is so quickly ripped out from under us it sucks, but it is a wound that goes deeper than that. It is very difficult to explain, but it does happen and obviously not to you. Therefore a statement like "it's just music!" to some is similar to walking up to a Jahova's Witness that's standing before the Almighty one and saying "it's just Jesus"...(I know that's a bit extreme, but you get my drift). The part I'm specifically talking about is where Chris sings 'tonight', and Kim plays what sounds EXACTLY like Chris's voice extending the last syllable.....it sounds really cool. I thought it actually was Chris the first times I heard the song. Anyways, (this is a bit out of nowhere but) Black Hole Sun and Tighter & Tighter are structured about the same. Of course, they were written at about the same peroid of time, but did Chris decide to not include TnT (that's my acronym for the song :P) on Superunknown, or did he just finish BHS first? /\ /\ 'o' -The Cat Cause I feel I'm going Feel I'm slowing down http://braindead.digitalchainsaw.com/na/ - Please hack into this page and skrew it up Please excuse the stupid Juno message below....I didn't put it there :P _____________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail. My history or extremely poor luck (and I'm Irish, go figure). If I say they will, it will never happen. If I say they won't, they definitely won't and probably will end up dying in a plane crash or some other terrible disaster. In order to avoid both of these situations, I won't even begin to think about a reunion and won't believe it 'til I see it. That's not a negative approach, it's an undecided approach. Gallagwar "People say is, 'Hey, all that guy is smash watermelons, what's so funny about that?' And I say, "Hey, can you come up here and do something funnier? I don't think so!"- another non-SG related quote. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 26 Mar 1998 17:58:52 PST From: Arden SunGod Subject: All these grand threads First off some of these threads are making me sick. I understand that not everyone on this list are complete and totally soundgarden obsessees.. I guess we lost our petigee over the years, but there are a lot of people here (I included) that consider Soundgarden much much more than "just a band". And the weirder and more out there the threads get it just makes it more interesting. I've seen us be a lot more psychotic than what I'm reading today. lighten up. -Arden ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 26 Mar 1998 21:13:35 -0500 From: =?iso-8859-1?Q?S=F6ren?= Franson Subject: Re: All these grand threads At 05:58 PM 3/26/98 PST, Arden SunGod wrote: >First off some of these threads are making me sick. Okay, I guess I'll have to be thankful that I haven't been on this list for very long, if it was worse before! =) I have to admit that at times the only thing that keeps me going is a little bit of SG or Chris' "Seasons", so in that way I'm faithful but as I said, or at least tried to, there's more to life than SG, even if SG provides a pretty damn nice silver lining! =) Soren ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 26 Mar 1998 14:55:14 -0500 From: Gabrielle Gerbino Subject: Re: BMF/SOMMS No, the tracks aren't unique to SOMMS, I don't understand it either. As far as I'm concerned, SOMMS is at the bottom of the list for me. It's not a bad name either since it implies you know something about the band and what they've released. I hate "She's a Politician".
