I mean really sorry. To all of the people who were supposed to go to Soundgarden shows which were canceled due to Chris's voice being fucked up. I was at the last or pre last show before his voice was fucked up. SG had 3 shows in NY's Roseland. Nov 16th, 17th, and 18th. I went to the one on the 16th. SG played for over 2 hours!!! and on the 17th. the show was canceled midway(I think it was after about 6 songs) because his voice started fucking up. The show on the 18th. was canceled altogether and I am guessing the rest were canceled after that. Did SG play any more shows after that? I feel so guilty about being one of the last to enjoy SG live(One of the most incredible live bands)... I'm sorry. It's STILL getting the number 1 slot on the top 9 requested songs of the day. People here (in Florida) really like it. I was wondering when the now anitcipated release date for chris' solo album... I've heard dates from april to december. Are there any rumors going around about the name of the album? I agree that the possibility SG will get back exists. Yes, they are unpredictable and everything. But I don't agree with the part about "not playing by the rules" - because playing by the rules would be spreading rumours and releasing as much compilations as possible - that's what other shitty bands would do, and I don't see SG doing things like that. They've announced the break up with a short statement for the press, which I thought was very appropriate (even though it was an unpleasant surprise). I think that if they were to get back together, we would see the same kind of a statement for the press. What I'm afraid of is one of those one-night one-show reunions, that people get all excited about, while actually only a few lucky ones will get to see them... A one night reunion is something they could do for themselves (which is perfectly OK, great and everything) - but it wouldn't really be a reason to get excited about :((( >^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^ >IF THIS ISN'T MAKING SENSE >IT DOESN'T MAKE IT LIES >*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* 1000x goes to BDMOTRFING@AOL.COM for that most appropriate SG quote I was looking for all along ;)))) New Damage ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 25 Mar 1998 13:37:40 -0800 From: Gene Candelaria Subject: Blurb Matt Chat mentioned in the newest Guitar(May 98) magazine in their RUMOUR MILL section: Contrary to recent reports, former Soundgarden drummer Matt Cameron recently told Web users online he's NOT joining the Smashing Pumpkins... -- gene ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 25 Mar 1998 17:19:55 -0500 From: El Conspiraco Subject: Soundgarden Gettin' Back Together! Yes, SG is/was a great band. How many bands are getting back together though? they broke up. Jeez. you can home they will do a Cornell fest in 20 years or something, but right now, they broke up. Live with it. Listen to the CDs. Be happy. At least it didnt take a suicide or drug addiction or seomthing worse. Lose all the false hope crap. I think everyone is taking this getting back together thing way too seriously. I actually found the first few posts that began this whole ordeal rather humerous. So don't get so upset over nothing. Everyone here has their own opinion about the probability of Soundgarden getting back together, and it doesn't matter because nothing anyone says here is going to change that probability one way or another. Ok, well, I know all about this whole making up thing, and I have to naturally tell my side of it. They may get back together: Chris Cornell's back up band. But they wear disguises and stuff. I was watching MTV tonite, and they had the top 10 videos of the 90's. Of course u had that damn puffy song that the whole world has heard about 4,000,000,000,000 times! and Jeremy(which im glad was on there, thats a great song!), but wut really pisses me off, wuz that BHS wuznt on there!!! One of the greatest videos ever made, and it wasnt on there!!!! Of course that damn teen spirit song was number 1!Is it just me, or is anybody else SICK of nirvana??? SG worked 12 long freakin years to get really little attention, and all nirvana had to do was have their crack head lead singer commit suicide, and their some "gods" creating the whole grunge look and feel! Didnt SG start nirvana and pearl jam, or am i mistaken???dont get me wrong, i dont dispise nirvana, but they really dont diserve all the attention that they get. I really do think nirvana IS a good band, but not as good as SG of course. 1 last thing to bitch about, how come crappy little wanna-be alternative wut ever raido stations always play the old SG??? Why not somethin from BMF?? Or Louder than life??? Why is it always burden in my hand, spoonman, BHS, and other SG songs that evry already knows??? Why cant radio stations play to the people SG that they never heard, and maybe start thinkin," hey, these guys are pretty coo, why didnt they play this before?". oh, and by the way, like i said before, kim and hiro boht graduated from the same high school i currently attend, and im workin my ass off tryin to persuade the principle to put up a plaque or somethin for recognition of hiro and kim's achievements with SG. later all u SOMMSters -GwYn Dark as roses And fine as sand I feel your healing And your sting again ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 25 Mar 1998 22:50:16 EST From: O6z6z6y Subject: If Ya Dig Christopher J.'s Style... ...And I'd bet 99.99% of you do, I as well as quite a few of my buds over here recommend you go snag a little disk called _Book Of Shadows_ by one of OzzY's henchmen Zakk Wylde. I've had this disk for a while, but never looked at it like I did today. It's very "Cornell-ish" with a touch of the redneck in there. You can here it real well on trax like "Dead As Yesterday" and "Sold My Soul". Anyway, since it ain't 100% SG related I'll keep it short, but if ya have a chance definately let your ear do some listenin...like I said, Chris after being locked in a room with nothin but JD, bear nuts and Lynyrd Skynyrd.
