I guess it will pick back up once Chris gets going, he seems to be a no-show lately, too busy for everything but his big debut I guess. Anyway, just wondering if anyone out there ordered shirts, etc. from Knights and is still waiting or have heard anything. I put in a pretty sizable order and am getting a little anxious. I talked to a few people on the list, but they got a reply, its been a while for me (really nervous considering the fact that I once sent money for info like years ago and am still waiting for that) Anyway, if anyone know something I don't let me know. THANKS. P.S. Jerry Cantrell's new song ROCKS, hope Chris follows suit. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 22 Feb 1998 14:26:38 EST From: Matt Hammons Subject: Irony in the great Soundgarden Tradition Anyone else find it ironic that the message to get the most replies to SOMMS was the one proclaiming its death? ---Matt (Without any refernce to Alanis) Hammons ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 22 Feb 1998 11:33:00 -0800 From: Ken Casey Subject: Not-so-conincidental Coincidences Get Matt, Ben, Chris and Kim to run into eachother, huh? Okay.. it could go like this: There's beer on sale at Safeway, so Kim goes shopping. He's buying his beer and low and behold, who does he run into? April Cameron. They chat and April invites Kim over for dinner. Kim says he'll be there and he's walking out of Safeway when he gets mauled by a German Shepherd. Chris runs up all apologetic like and then realises that his dog is attacking Kim and just starts laughing at him. Kim tells Chris about how he's going to Matts for dinner and Chris decides to call Matt, realizing that no one has seen him forever. Matt invites Chris to come too, all psyched that those 3 are gonna get together. Kim, Chris and Susan carpool up to Matt's house, and go eat dinner. Afterwords, Kim watches a little TV and see's Ben. Ben's on the news 'cause he's being sued by someone for kicking them in the face at a concert, so the guys decide to give Ben a call. Suddenly they all realize how long its been since they've all hung out and how much fun they used to have and decide to get back together and record. Not like that would ever happen in a million years, but hey, it's worth a shot since no one else came up with one =) -Arden ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 22 Feb 1998 13:19:13 +0000 From: Geoff Kleemola Subject: Re: Is SOMMS dead? Previously it was a 2 step thing.. you go to a page - enter your details - i put you on a list - send you info - you send me info - i make the page.. well now it's MUCH easier! i don't know why i didn't do this originally!! The people who are already a part of the directory and already have their own SOMMS bio pages need not do a thing.. sorry to take up your time.. BUT.. the people who are listed on my site, but have not yet sent me their info (and you know who you are) can either reply to the mail already, or do this.. the URL is http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/Alley/6953/register.html (formerly test.html.. and no i can't do anything about that stupid gap.. hehe) and it can be filled out by everyone who receives this mail.. Some Minor Details - one question i didn't put on there was regarding pics of yourself.. if you do have one, send it to me after you've filled in http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/6953/register.html ..send it to koggle@hotmail.com and i will upload it to your future page - if there are some questions you don't understand or that don't apply to you, leave the space blank, or type NA - the space in which you type might seem a little bit small for the 'SG discovery story' etc, but as far as i know the amount of letters permitted to be typed in there is unlimited.. speak your mindddd - don't know what the heck all those 3 letter chat programs are? don't worry about filling that out.. later on i will put links to their respectable websites and you can find out more.. (thanks to Geoff Kleemola - new SOMMS directory member - for that tip!) - with the favourite SG releases Q, don't list them all, but you can list more than one, obviously.. and it'd be nice if you put a reason for liking it so much, but it's not necessary. and i think that's about it.. any further questions, email me, not the list.. and don't forget to visit your fellow SOMMSter's pages at http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/Alley/6953/SOMMS.html Koggle ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 22 Feb 1998 17:21:48 -0800 From: Bill Flanders Subject: Re: KOTS > P.S. Jerry's hit it hard... and even Scott Weiland has orchestrated some remarkable vibes on the Great Expectations soundtrack (although, I think I heard it in the Doors a while back..) Chris has written how many... 50 or so songs by himself? Hopefully he'll write some more excellent songs... As far as Chris, well- I hate to say it but Sunshower was a bit of a downer for me, I don't know why but I find myself cringing and shaking my head when I hear it and have to turn it off. So that is just my humble opinion and I don't want to open that whole can of worms with the whole Chris solo bit, so lets leave it at that. I also have to say that even though I was really let down that Chris was not on MTV live like we all thought, I really dug Scott's live performance and am happy to see him joining up with some Porno for Pyros alumni. The studio he made was really cool and I liked his performance. Some may knock him and say he is a ripoff of whoever, but I got a chance to see them right before they parted and it was one of the most beautiful performances I have ever seen. Anyway, it looks like we will have a far more better year musically than last, at least I hope so.
