Just wanted to add my 2 cents worth on the vinyl thing.... Kris Wrote: >>I am listing two price columns. One for the conservative type and one for the all out fan. Remember: The prices are for mint (not played or touched) or still sealed items only. Anything in lesser condition would devalue these records.<< I dont mean to sound like a SG vinyl know-it-all or anything, its just well, like most of you I collect... and I do stay up on the current prices ( in case I see something that I just have to have for the right price ) I didnt want to come off like a snot ( as opposed to any other time that I post ) But I really wanted to respond to this post....I just see so many people buying SG for alot more money that the item is actually worth. For the the most part the prices that Kris listed were pretty correct. (*And for those of you who needed it should thank Kris for working that up*) One thing that you'll have to remember is it sometimes depends on what part of the country your in...diffrent areas, diffrent prices. The prices really do sometimes depend on the areas!!! ( take Seattle for instance... I think that I have only bought 1 Soundgarden item while in Seattle.. EVERTHING is overpriced... unless you get it on sale ( right Lance? ) ) I did however notice that there were some prices that I thought might need to be adjusted. < SNIP> Ultramega OK (red/green/yellow-limited*) $10 $20 Louder Than Love (red/green/yellow-*limited*) $20 $30 Some of the prices were just a little under ESPECIALLY if you plan on getting any of the early releases on colored vinyl... MINT condidtion still sealed WILL usually run you about 50-100 an album ( I think that if you get them for under 50 you got yourself a bargain. ) IF you cant afford to spend that much on an album... there is hope! You can still find good deals out there... You just gotta look for 'em and of course it will just take you longer. When I started collecting I was on a budget of $20 per piece... I simply wouldnt spend more than that on any given item and I got some really GREAT stuff with that kind of thinking ( a couple of Foreshocks, Fuck me Im rich, SOMMS, FOPP etc. and all were in Mint to Very Good condition ) I guess what Im saying is... IF you really want it and you look hard enough for it... you'll find it ( well sometimes ) and for the price you want to pay. I hope that helps.. and now I will get off my soapbox. Warm Ones Dena :)~ OH.. and since were on the subject of vinyl... I have some extras that I need to sell. ( happy homeowner needs her roof repaired =( ) I need to make some extra cash to pay for it.. If anyone is interested email me and I will send out a list. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 21 Feb 1998 00:15:12 -0800 From: Ken Casey Subject: Re: Vinly Prices.. my 2 cents worth I totally agree.. unfortunatly I have spent a fortune on vinyl and will be the first to say that yes, Seattle over prices their vinyl. I've lived here all my life and never seen SU colored vinyl for under 50. Used. Thats what I paid for mine, but I dont recomend it unless you happen to be a cosmic sucker. I did manage to find some good deals though, or at least as good as they get. If anyone in the area is interested, Sonic Boom Records in Fremont has TDITTL and JCP picture 7"s for 15 a peice. I grabbed the Outshined and Come Together singles, so you're out of luck. Happy hunting, my vinyl hungry comrades! -Arden ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 21 Feb 1998 05:59:24 EST From: Ben Timberlake Subject: Frank Kozik in Juxtapoz Hey guys, Frank Kozik (director of "Pretty Noose" video / poster artist / former (?) sommster) is featured in the February issue of the art magazine "Juxtapoz".
