I've been on this list for about 6 months, and I don't recall seeing any Northern California SOMMSters around. If you are out there e-mail me, cause I'm just curious, and anxious to see if any are out there. --Matt ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 13 Feb 1998 14:49:39 -0500 From: jenny grover Subject: status: ships commander butchered Once again Fri. 13 is proving lucky for me. I got Vol.2 of the Desert Sessions by mail today. It's titled "Status: Ships Commander Butchered" and it kicks ass! 3 songs on this one ["Johnny the Boy", "Screamin Eagle", and "Cake (Who Shit On the?)"] all with Ben on bass, one with Ben also on guitar. This time 2 of the songs have vocals (1 by Josh Homme and 1 by Pete Stahl). Less rambling, more rocking, and more 60's flavored (but the 60's were never this heavy) than Vol.1. Well worth the price of 7.50! Orange vinyl. The new Man's Ruin catalogue says that Vol.1 is sold out, so I suggest if you want this one on vinyl that you hop to it. The 1st of the cd's is listed as available now too. My order for it goes out tomorrow :) Jen ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 14 Feb 1998 10:55:24 +1100 From: Larry on a Leaf Subject: Kim Thayil Hello Everyone, Personally I think Kim Thayil is a big lazy bum. He should wear a fishing hat like Jimmy Page does. Thayil is a fuckern legend. He should release a solo album called "I'm A Bum" and have one song on it that runs for one minute. Fuck that'd be good. Thayil is now referred to as KING Thayil instead on Kim Thayil. WHO agrees with me? B-Sides is gonna be fuckin brilliant and I can't fuckin wait till it comes out.
