It says that somewhere on the site. And whoever did the narrating on Searching with my good eye closed is credited on bmf booklet. Why do you people care? GUESSSSS WHATTTT!!! WELLL.. what a night!!! before going to go see Radiohead, which totally blew me away, i decided i might as well pop into Rockinghorse Records 2 to see if the SOMMS disc justin mentioned to the list was still there. i called up the store earlier in the week and they said that they couldn't find it and it must have been bought already.. i kinda gave up and forgot about it until tonight when i was in the city for the radiohead show and it was late night shopping and i thought i should see for myself, maybe pick up some other SG stuff i could find.. well I DAMN WELL FUCKING FOUND SOMMMMMMMMMSSSSS!!!! after having a heart attack in the store (the guy was looking thru a pile of discs, "lemme see if i can find it..hmmm let's seee.." and i was like "HERE IT IS!" and grabbed it off the guy hehe) i was giggling and carrying on and grabbing my friends arm and i kept saying "oh my god i found it!!" i paid for it ($30) and finally got myself Flower too ($10).. there was an interview disc thing for 27 bucks and i put my foot down.. lee (from this here list) gave me SUPERUNINTERVIEW today too.. it's almost like christmas, i tell ya.. heheh but anyway, i'm rambling here.. to cut a long story short i was dancing all over the city streets of brisbane swinging around this little bag and occasionally laughing and saying 'i've got it!' hehehehe *embarrassed slightly* and not 5 minutes later who should i run into.... JUSTIN from this list! yes, the person who tipped me off about SOMMS in the first place.. i told him i'd praise him on here.. i know ya said not to, justin, but this CD has made my day, my week, my year.. and i have YOU to thank for it! it was excellent luck to have met you and to thank you in person.. thank you thank you thank you!! :) :) :) :) anyway, i've done enough silliness on here.. sorrrrry but i've been waiting for this day for years.. add me to the list! cos i now have SOMMS!!!! To clear things up, I'm not soundgardenless but my room is. I'm getting ready to move so I had to take all my sg stuff off of my walls. The only sg thing still hanging is my '98 calander and a poster in my closet (but nobody knows about it so shhhhhh....) Anyway, it's depressing sometimes to go in there now and know what it used to look like. Oh well... The double take thing is not about a person (I couldn't think of anything else) but it's about a song, so I'll explain...I usually keep my cd player on shuffle and i have 3 sg cd's in there at a time. Well, I turned on my cd player the other night and the first few cords of BHS came on so I turned it off to hear what was on the radio and the radio picked up exactly where my cd left off. I was like, "Okay, I'll listen to the damn song!!" Not that I have anything against the song but I guess someone or something thought I should hear it, so I listened to it. Just thought that was kinda creepy. The goodbyes are for everyone that has made my stay here at SOMMShotel a cool and unforgettable experience. Like I said, I'm getting ready to move and I can't take my computer with me and also school is so overwhelming right now I haven't read SOMMS in forever so I'm saying, "Adios" to everyone. I just wanted to say thanks to everyone that helped me find cd's and other odds and ends that I couldn't find down here. Ya'll have been great!!! This is the last bull-shit nonsense ya'll will hear from me (at least for awhile)!!!! Take care and be sweet!!! The "do you hear a cow" guy is clearly not this guy, nor Chris, nor Seth, but none other than the infamous Susan Silver. duh. >> Okay. The person in Searching... is Damon Stewart. In the sleeve notes it clearly says, Narration- Damon Stewart, not narration on Hand of God- Damon Stewart. Why would they include him in the credits for an album that came out five years later. And it's also impossible because they also say who the saxophonist was and the pianist if I remember correctly. Susan Silver is undoubtedly the single dumbest suggestion I've ever heard. I don't think her voice is that deep and if it is that deep we should start giving our opinions on her background (i.e. she must have been born a male to have a voice that deep. jk), not who the narrator was in the song. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 6 Feb 1998 14:54:21 EST From: Mike Gallagher Subject: Re: this is the best In a message dated 98-02-06 02:36:46 EST, anooi@EISA.NET.AU writes: << for all you Soundgarden dudes the best quote is: ...Real music. no analyzing. no pressure. no hype. Just music. to make music. friends and a reason. chemistry. beauty. Life Rules!>> Subject: Tighter & Tighter Hey y'all, Does any one else on the list here ever actually listen to Tighter & Tighter more than twice with the CD player on the repeat button??? I have, and the first time I did this was about 6 months ago. T&T is to me what Soundgarden is in total. To me, this is their song. It's a wild, wild, song... but deep. As I read the lyrics, I have the impression that Chris is kinda recapping SG's career. For example, there are references to snakes, and where haven't we seen that in a SG song? There is a "everything is black, or burning sun"...which is screaming out BHS reference. If anyone is doing a Song of the Month or Song of the last 6 months, do this song. Or, if Seth has quit the SOTM, I am willing to type out a page or two about T&T, and hell, if you don't like this song, it's better than most of their songs.... Another idea for the Song of the Month, is Sunshower...most of the list seems to enjoy it...for various reasons. And just because it ain't as heavy as Pretty Noose, doesn't mean it isn't a good song. I enjoy listening to it because there is that kick-ass guitar solo that has that real climatic feeling I've never really heard/experienced before. Enough of me, back to da show.
