All the SG guys are pretty cheap.. Don't know why but they are.. They are listed as rising stars in a band called Soundgarden... Away from that its pretty fun.. Try it.. it is free and you are supposed to be able to win money.. I was watching the Blues Brothers that i taped and fell asleep and woke up like 10 or 20 minutes after the end and there was MTV news and they said next up a interview with Soundgarden.. I thought who the fuck taped this without telling me?? The interview was just about 10 minutes and was about their new album DOTU. Is ended with Chris saying "So long we can find new rooms we will be putting out new records". Well now Chris found a own room... Having lunch yesterday, i was feeling kinda down, so i turned on the radio (something i rarely do).As i turned it on, the dj announced a song from the Great Expectations soundtrack... finally, i was gonna hear the song (Sunshower) that seems to disappoint everyone here... It started playing, and by the time it was done, i was smiling, i was feeling good... Music is very subjective, so i can conceive that some may like it, and some may not. it made me feel good.. Isn't that what defines a good/great/incredible song? Isn't it what music is all about? ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 25 Jan 1998 12:44:07 -0500 From: Deborah Servey Subject: A poster I forgot I had!!! Hey, List! More from my moving sale!! In anticipation of moving later this spring, a friend and I are sorting thru all our various collections. Being as how my loyalties are to this list, you folks all have first dibs on stuff and so I have a question for you all! Any interest at all in any Pearl Jam or Mother Love Bone stuff? Not exactly Sgarden related BUT some hard to find stuff that I'd rather see go to people on this list than to some PJ news group. Here's what I have that's hard to find: 1991 PJ Xmas single Let Me Sleep 1992 PJ Xmas single Who Killed Rudolph 1994 PJ Xmas single Angels/Ramblings 1995 PJ Xmas double single These would have to go for $25 each as they are so hard to find. Mother Love Bone single, pic sleeve Here's the scoop--Lin paid $60 for this thing 3 years ago. If you're interested, the price would have to be at least that much! So, listers, any takers? If not, it'll go to some PJ news group. Thanks to all who are helping us w/ our virtual "garage sale" by the way! We've both been collecting since 1985 and have lots of stuff we've decided to sell off! Anyone on the list like YES, the BeeGees, Elton John? good night for now! later....deb ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 25 Jan 1998 20:56:28 -0500 From: CRAIG GRIFFITH Subject: Soundgarden on Radio! Be excited! I had just gotten into my room and I turned on my stereo, which was tuned to DC 101, and what did I hear but "Let Me Drown"? My first reaction was, "What? I didn't know that was a single!" My second reaction was, "Yes! This rocks!" Then, after "Let Me Drown" had finished, to my utter surprise, I heard the opening riff to "My Wave"! It turns out that they were going to play the entire first side! Freakin' great! After "Black Hole Sun" ended, I expected some inane DJ chatter, but I was greeted by the Spoonman! The DJ must have been caught up in Soundgarden reverie... Now if only they did something this cool even more often. Ah, well. I've got a date with my stereo every Sunday at 7... :{) Craig Griffith: Guitar player, high school student, King of Craigland http://www.geocities.com/EnchantedForest/Dell/8509/ "I may make you feel, but I can't make you think" -Ian Anderson ____________________________________________________________________ Get free e-mail and a permanent address at http://www.netaddress.com ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 26 Jan 1998 12:23:21 +1100 From: wyn Subject: Chris and Kim interview on V The Chris and Kim interview shown on Friday on channel V (foxtel) was the best interview I've ever seen really. Molly Meldrum (yep the old guy with the hat) interviewed them both but even though at times he does waffle a bit it, it was pretty good. Something that just may be of slight interest is that I'm doing up a transcript of the interview so when that's finished I'll send it in. Here's just an interesting tit bit: Molly Meldrum: Well Chris, Kim welcome to the show. I've been dieing to interview you for such a long, long time. Um I could spend hours talking too you. First of all congratulations on the last ten years. Chris & Kim: Thanks (in unison) Molly: I mean ten years, does it seem like ten years? Chris: It's been thirteen, yeah Kim: (chuckle) Chris: ...therefore it doesn't feel like it. Molly: The first EP was released Kim: In '87, yeah ten years of recording, thirteen years of writing and playing live. Chris: Yeah we wrote, that first three years we wrote a lot of music. I mean that first EP actually all the songs were I think pretty much brand new when we put it out the first EP and we had a couple of records worth of material behind Kim: That we still haven't released. Chris: Yeah. Molly: Really? Chris: And as well the next release after the Sub Pop EP, on the SST label. A lot of the songs were written before the Sub Pop record. There were just, we just did a lot of new songs when we did that Sub Pop record. There are probably, I don't know another 20 songs that are sitting around on tapes that I don't remember. Kim: (chuckle) ...Well that's all for now Bronwyn ------------------------------ End of SOMMS Digest - 25 Jan 1998 to 26 Jan 1998 ************************************************
